I used Intelius to conduct a reverse-phone number search back in October 2007. Upon doing so, I entered my credit card information as instructed and accepted the terms and conditions to run my request. What I later found out after three months of unknown charges was by accepting the terms and conditions from Intelius, was an enrollment to 24Protect Plus. I was not aware of this until three months later. To the best of my knowledge I saw no information of this in the terms and conditions. I only wanted a one time search completed, not an enrollment to a company that I have no idea who they are or what services they provide. If I wanted their services, I would have went to their site and gave my credit card information. You would think Intelius and 24Protect Plus would know this. Obviously Not!

I do take some responsability that upon providing my credit card on a secure site means absolutely nothing. As a consumer, I need to keep a watchful eye on my financial accounts to keep unwanted companies out. Their actions are illegal and they are fully aware of it.

After contacting 24Protect Plus several days ago and again today, their supervisor instructed me that their company would refund only two of the three months and there was nothing else they could do for me.

I later contacted Intelius and spoke to a customer service rep. and have been notified that "she" has heard this complaint far too much. "She" knew exactly the hallmarks of this complaint relating to 24Protect Plus and their membership enrollment. By accepting the terms and conditions on their site, your enrollment to 24Protect Plus begins immediately. Far too often, people like me are unaware they have enrolled into anything until the charges are already withdrawn from their accounts.

I hope by posting another complaint against 24Protect Plus that other people become aware, and by doing so, they can be saved from the fustration and headaches that I have incurred.

I further state that not only is 24Protect Plus responsible for their fraudulent actions, Intelius should also be held accountable for their actions.
