I consider myself to be very cautious and observant during the checkout process when purchasing items online. However, this is the second time I have been duped into monthly charges from a company like this.

Both times, I found charges from a company I'd never heard from that offers insurance and credit protection.

And, both times, I caught it quickly and called the credit card company's dispute department to cancel the account making the charges - and to talk to a representative from said company. In both cases, the charges were credited back to me.

I found out in this case, that it was a purchase through vistaprint.com that got me into this mess. Like I said, I am pretty cautious when checking out, so it had to have been less than obvious that I was signing up for this.

When I called the dispute dept. of the card company I use, they all but tried to talk me out of filing a dispute - actually said it would be a waste of my time! I recommended he call 24ProtectPlus - to which he said he was about to recommend that?! In any case, 10 minutes later, Chris from 24ProtectPlus said the charges would be credited back to me.

Bottom line: Don't let the card company convince you that all hope is lost! And don't let shady outfits like 24ProtectPlus, (or the affiliates that trick you into signing up -->Vistaprint!), take your hard earned money. They make their money banking on the fact that you won't pay attention to your monthly statement. And, since they haven't gone away, this must be a cottage industry for them.

It only takes 10-15 minutes to recoup your costs. In my case, they billed me twice on the same statement for $15. 15 minutes for $30 of MY MONEY is well worth it.

Vistaprint, you just lost my business!
