1 year ago I subscribed for ring tones for my cellular phone with 3gupload.com (who is now 3guppies.com), before my subscription was to be ended I downloaded more ring tones to my phone to get my $7.99 worth, to find out that although it allowed me to send the ring tones to my cell phone, but I still cant download them into the phone. They apparently put some code to not allow me to extract the ring tones onto my cell.

I called the customer service number (1-877-464-9937) for assistance, but to no avail. They have a recording that says: "Please call during our business hours (no matter what time you call, even when you call during their business hours) it also says, that you can download music and if you're calling about a credit to leave your name, phone number where you can be reached, last 4 numbers of credit card, and the date you were charged for the service so they can credit your account." That is also to no avail. They never acknowledge the calls nor do the credit one's account. No credit is ever issued, because it appears that it is just a recording with no one to check it.

A day later I noticed that 3gupload had taken out of my account the renewal subscription fee of $7.99. I called 3gupload/3guppies once again and of course I could never get a live person. I got the same recording over & over again, to the point that I had to dispute the charge with My Credit Card Company.

Now I have these ring tones stuck in my phone as text messages that I can not download in the phone for use, since I need some WAP # that they are not providing me. I basically paid for something that I never received. BIG SCAM indeed!

Please BEWARE! They seem to be automatically taking people's money out of their accounts without giving the service that they are promoting. THEY ARE A RIPOFF/ SCAM!!!!!!! Do not order from 3gupload/3guppies.com.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

3guppies.com

AUTHOR: J. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 27, 2008

first things first.
3guppies.com is closed and doesn't accept any new orders or payments. the company went under a few months ago. the website is up and partially functional but it's practically useless. the reason no one answers your calls is because there's no employees left doing customer support.

"I downloaded more ring tones to my phone to get my $7.99 worth, to find out that although it allowed me to send the ring tones to my cell phone, but I still can't download them into the phone. They apparently put some code to not allow me to extract the ring tones onto my cell."

the problem isn't that you were ripped off, the problem is that you don't know how to properly download a ringtone onto your cell. there is no code you have to put in, i worked for the company for years and there was nothing like this implemented around the time you filed this report.

if you received a charge in the past 6 months it's because you subscribed at some point and never canceled your subscription package. if you want your money back, i obviously wouldn't suggest calling customer support since you will get no answer. simply contact your bank and have them issue a charge back to the company. they will know what this means and you' will get your money back.

hope this cleared things up for you.
