86th Street Photo and Video is the shadiest operation I have ever delt with. They posted a sale price on a Pentax W-30 online for a great price. After placing the order online I received an email stating that they needed me to confirm my order (which was the first red flag)over the phone. During my call 86th Street Photo and Video pressured me to purchase all sorts of extras for my camera, which over doubled my costs and none of which I needed. I refused to give into their sales pitches and confirmed my order. I then received another email stating that my camera was on back-order (4-6 weeks), which I knew was false due to the fact that my friend purchased the over-priced package over a week after me and he had just recieved it. I then called 86th Street Photo and Video to confront them on the issue and I was given a major run-around. I was told that my order did not matter and that I should cancel my order. The person on the phone also stated that the email was under-estimating the time of arrival for the camera and it may be over 4-6 weeks before I get it. He also mentioned that they may not ever get the camera in.....ahhh yea right! He refused to admit that the only reason the camera was so cheap was that they made up the cost by inflating the cost of the package and that they are refusing the sale to me since they will not take a hit on their "deal"! I do not suggest that anyone should deal with these people.....I have never encountered anything like this!
