HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. So, we bought the 8x8 phones and service for our business. Making what I thought was a minor change to our caller id on our phones where it is to display the main phone number on all of our outgoing phones turned into a night mare. I called up 8x8 support and talked to a Jennifer. She told me what I wanted to do is a simple change. She walked me thru the steps of having my main phone # to be displayed when making out going calls by going in to the Account Manager, Phone System setup, and just edit each of the phone line to default to this main number.

 

As soon as I made this change to all our phone lines, hit "Save", ALL hell breaks loose after that! ALL of our 5 phone lines dropped dead/no dial tone/no longer working and our business now have no phones. We have tons of guests calling to schedule and change appointments continuously thru out the day and NO PHONE? You're a support person and you should know that this kind of changes will trigger a reset and with that comes consequences.

 

After causing my business phones to crash, this Jennifer at 8x8 support hung up and disappeared, never called me back. I ended up calling back in to support and after being on hold for a good 10-15mins, I got another support person came on line - Barry this time. He had us going thru pretty much the same thing to try to recover with NO LUCK. The next step is to reset my router. HELLO!!! after jeoperdized my whole telephone system, you now want me to reset my router and my business scheduling application, computers are going down too at 11:30AM when we just started our business day?? OK...long story short, I had to call in my IT consultant guy, and after 10 hours of going back and forth and trying everything possible thing that their support guy suggested, we got lucky and somehow we got the phone to come back online again.

 

Asking what is the cause, the support guy is saying no idea but luckily one of the things we tried seems to work -  WOW!! This company's phone and support people are just horrible, inexperienced. I will be ditching this company as soon as I find a better company to work with. What a waste of my time and what a joke for a company. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
