We purchased a replacement projection bulb from A Matter of Faxs for our Mitsubishi DLP television. Besides the bulb being burned out there were other issues with the TV which we did not know, we believed it was the replacement bulb that caused the issues and we have tried to contact A Matter of Faxs many times to resolve the bulb issue. Finally at our expense we called out the recommended service company. When they pulled out the bulb they told us the bulb we had just recieved from A Matter of Fax was used and at least a year old. In addition they showed us that the bulb was not in the case it ought to have been in by comparing it to a new bulb and showed us that the wiring was faulty as well. We found A Matter of Faxs while shopping on eBay; they were an immediate purchase choice. Making this choice was a very poor decision. Once they send you something the deal is done. In our case we purchased a used item advertised as new that was also faulty. We believed it was free shipping and we were charged shipping and handling. Do not buy anything from this company, pay more, go to a local retailer, and deal with someone you know you can contact, or end up like me paying twice as much at a time when I am doing my best to hold costs down.

Fry's Electronics, Mitsubishi 52525 & A Matter of FAX

AUTHOR: 84 Lude - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 27, 2009

In our initial report we told of not being able to reach Customer Service with A Matter of FAX an online company based in New Jersey who we had purchased a replacement projection bulb for our Mitsubishi 52525 DLP TV. After we got their attention A Matter of FAX has now completely refunded our purchase and shipping. Now we have a dead $3,000.00 (+) Mitsubishi DLP TV, thankfully when we purchased it from Frys Electronics in Las Vegas we got the extended warrantee from them to replace or repair the TV at their discretion should it fail in five years. Repairing this TV will take a very long time, it will cost nearly as much as buying a new TV at current prices and we will be left with a TV that has a fundamental design flaw causing the capacitors in the mother board to burn out sooner or later. After very little online research one can find that this is an endemic problem with this model TV. How on earth did Mitsubishi and Texas Instruments design and market a high end TV with a built in design failure of this nature? I believed at the time we were buying the best technology available manufactured by companies of the highest integrity and I WAS WRONG, this product is a Ripoff! We are now dealing with Frys whose product insurance company is nearly as bogus as Mitsubishi. We went in and made some selections based on their offer to replace our 52 DLP with a 50 plasma. We looked at the plasma noted the price and gave them several choices of TVs in that price range and they denied us saying the TVs we chose were too high in price even though they were the same. They did not say you have to take this model or that model they just wasted our time. Now they have once again decided to replace the DLP but what more games await us we shall see. Did they deny our initial request because the TVs we chose were a lower net profit item than the one they wanted us to take? Do they want to pawn off older technology on us even though when we made our purchase we bought the best technology at a much, much higher price? In addition we paid extra to insure this purchase. Why do companies like Mitsubishi and Texas Instruments have so little integrity? What is right is right. Do they need to have law suits to get their attention?
