A N L Thermotechnologies - Anthony Quintana Heating & A/C Repair INCOMPETENT NEARLY CAUSED FIRE Toms River New Jersey

This guy was hired to repair a heating/air conditioning unit in my home. The unit is about 25 years old. After convincing my home warranty company that they SHOULDN'T cover the repair we nevertheless hired him to fix the unit since it was the middle of winter and daytime highs were about 20 degrees. He said he'd come out Wednesday (1/21/09) to fix it. He finally appeared at around 9:30-10:00pm. He installed a new motor, which he said would fix the problem and we could use the unit but he needed to return Thursday to complete the job. He didn't return Thursday but promised to come back Friday. The unit then stopped working Friday morning. Repeated calls Friday weren't returned. Repeated calls Saturday morning weren't returned. Saturday afternoon another contractor came out, took one look at the new motor and told us the problem was that Mr. Quintana had (i) installed the motor backwards; (ii) hadn't secured it properly; and (iii) used the wrong voltage motor. The net result: our circuit breaker tripped cutting off power to the unit --- because if it hadn't, we would have been REALLY warm -- from the fire this idiot's improper installation would have caused.

Bottom line: if you're thinking about calling this fly-by-night, apparently unlicensed contractor, DON'T. You're better off without heat or A/C than having this moron try to fix it for you and causing you bigger problems.
