Myappt was on Friday, June 8th @ 3:30 with Bob Murphy, apparently he had no idea I was getting a Guru DFU fit, which I found strange because thats what I scheduled on-line, so
I had to wait about 35 minutes for him to set everything up. Upon walking into
the fit room he immediately had a problem with my bike, asked who I bought it
from, why I bought a Cervelo. Then he said since he didnt know I wanted a Guru
DFU fit he didnt have any Speedplay pedals so he would have to take mine off
my bike and seemed quite put out by this. When he was finally ready, we did all
the computer measurement, to see where I felt good etcThen he had to the make
seat adjustments and had issues with the fact I had a Profile Design bottle
cage and he couldnt move the seat, so he took it off and when doing that
scratched my seat post. Then came the adjustments to my aero bars. He told me
several times how he didnt like my aero bars (3T Aura Pro) and he wasnt a
mechanic, rather he fits bikes. Im thinking isnt part of the bike fit making
the proper adjustments to the saddle and bars. He spent so much time trying to
figure out my bars he didnt even touch at the cleats on my road or tri shoes,
never looked at them once. On my first ride, Stuart asked my saddle was tilted
up rather than down (no wonder I was so uncomfortable). The icing on the cake,
when he put my bars back together they were uneven and loose, so loose they
started drastically shifting and sliding while I was riding to the point it was
dangerous.

As the owner of A Road Bike 4U, I take any reports of customer dissatisfaction to heart. We strive to provide our customers with the best service possible, but as human beings, from time to time, we fall short. In this particular instance, what the customer failed to mention is that we offered to do a complete re-fitting on her bicycle. When she declined (understandable and no hard feelings), we gave her a FULL refund and offered her a FREE Classics Level Tune-up on her bike (a $110 value). Bike fitting is one of the specialties we are known for in Orange County and we do have hundreds of satisfied cyclists & triathletes who are now riding faster and pain free.
