SEO Reputation Management at its best!

My family and I got our taxes done at a local business where we were told that there was a reputable car dealer where we could go and get a reliable car. We went to the dealership (AtoZ) and talked with a man who showed us the car and told us that is there were any problems with it we were welcome to call within a 15 day period and they would take the car back or fix the issue if one were to arise.

We talked it over and decided to get the car (2003 mazda 6). We were told that when our taxes came in that it would be sent to AtoZ and we would sign and cut the check there. We also signed up to get some of our money early. We got that check which was around $1200 and gave it to A to Z.

When we went to sign the first check over to them we met Stacy. We told her that the car was making a weird noise and she said that the mechanic would give us a call and stop by our house. We returned at the end of the week to sign the rest of the money over to her and my husband had to do the math for her! She was going to charge us $800 more than we should have been charged!

We told her again that we nver heard from the mechanic. This is when she informed us that the man who sold us the car wasn't the owner any more so we were working with his mechanic and she would tell him to call us, but she really couldn't do much to help, but again nothing.  I went by to give them our new address when we moved and say hey can you please do something.

We finally got the number to the mecanic who after a week of getting the run around. He comes by and says go to this muffler shop and Finesse them to give us a free estimate because he thinks that he CATS are clogged. We go to the place and the man says that is an issue but not why the car is having trouble.

We then take it to someone else who says that the head gaskets are warpped and that the car is pretty much junk. So we went back with our kids and told them do something or take it back and give us our money back. Stacy called the cops on us.

We now are in the process of finding some legal advice and doing whatever we can to let anyone who is looking to buy a car know to just do your research check the carfax. Dont get stuck taking your family on the bus while making payments on a car that doesn't run.

Response to Rip off allegations

A TO Z AUTOS, INC. response to “rip off” allegations:

On January 30, 2013, the customer purchased an “As Is” 2003 Mazda 6.  Prior to purchasing the vehicle, the customer exercised her right to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of her choice, who cleared the vehicle of any mechanical issues. The customer and her husband did in fact use an outside Tax Return Service to assist with the down payment for the vehicle. As such, the customer agreed that the tax return check would come directly to A to Z Autos.

We received the check on or about February 12, 2013, at which time the customer and her husband were called to come in to sign off on the check.  When they got here they were confused about the amount they received from the tax return, therefore, we contacted the Preparer to clarify the amount, which we did, and the customer/husband were satisfied, and signed off on the check.  The customer’s claim that we were trying to charge an additional $800.00 is completely false.

In February when the customer/husband were here to sign off on the check, they mentioned that there was a squealing noise in the vehicle. They were given a business card for a mobile mechanic to look into the squealing noise at their expense.  In March the customer came in to make a payment, and said they had called the mobile mechanic but hadn’t heard back from him. I called the mechanic while the customer/husband were present, and left a message asking him to call the customer also leaving their phone number.

In April the husband called and advised us that the vehicle had been involved in an accident, and asked us for a referral to a body/repair shop, and he was referred to Electrobake.  On April 29, 2013 the repairs that were made to the vehicle are as follows: Remove/install front bumper cover; remove/install front bumper impact absorber; remove/install the front bumper reinforcement bar; remove/install the radiator; remove and replace the front body radiator support; and adjust the headlights.

It was not until June 1, 2013, that we received a message from the customer/husband that they had some concerns about the vehicle.  A day or two later, as requested, we sent the mobile mechanic to the customers home to diagnose the issue.  The mechanic’s opinion was that it may be the catalytic converters, and referred the customer to Stacy’s Muffler for further evaluation. According to the customer/husband, Stacy’s Muffler told them that it was in fact the catalytic converter, but the customer/husband was not satisfied with that, and took the vehicle to Sarasota Ford to be looked at.

On June 7, 2013 the customer called and said that Sarasota Ford found the issue, but that they could not give him a written estimate for the repairs, and alleged it would need about $6,000.00 worth of work. We told him that makes no sense.  If you took it to a reputable shop they should have been able to give you a written estimate.  He then explained that the person at Sarasota Ford was a family friend who looked at it as a favor to him. We again advised him that the vehicle was bought as is.

The husband was not happy and that’s when the accusations of A to Z Autos lying and selling them a lemon began.  He claimed the head gaskets were blown and he needed a whole new motor. He then stated they were dropping the car off as they couldn’t afford it anymore. It was explained to him that he was welcome to surrender the car but we could not promise any repairs since he purchased this vehicle as is. Within an hour the customer/husband arrived at A to Z Autos, stating the vehicle was un-drivable and a safety risk, although they drove it  approximately 10 miles to get here. It was again explained there wasn’t anything we could do for them.

I was polite and told them they couldn’t stay here. This customer refused to leave and said he had no where to go and would be here all day. The husband explained the car wasn’t safe and they had no way to get home. I personally offered to drive them and their children home so they were not stranded. They refused! The customer/husband were both irate and loud so my manager asked me to contact the sheriff’s office to have them escorted out.

When the Sheriff’s arrived they instructed the customer/husband to leave the premises.  They then camped outside a neighboring store being loud and irate and cursing in front of their two young children. They were then asked by that property owner to leave.  The customer drove off in the vehicle with her children, however, the husband sat outside our business with a scribbled up sign about how horrible our company is. We treat our customers fairly and have great repeat business. Perhaps the customer/husband should reflect on the motor vehicle accident that occurred in April 2013 as the potential cause of the vehicles current issues.
