AAA charged for parts by 2.5 times Santa Clara, California

I took my car to this shop for smog check and oil change on Oct 9, 2010. I paid $90 for this. After the oil change, I observed that the my check engine light is on. I took the car back to AAA repair shop. This time, they told me they have to run engine check. It costed me $108.  Then AAA told me that they need to change part. That would cost $265 and $54 for repair. I paid all this money. During the repair, I asked them to show me the part, I saw that parts cost just $62. When I asked AAA, they mentioned that it is their standard practice to charge for the parts like this. Hence, I have decided to report this practice so that people get aware of the company practice. Overall, my car was okay when I took to AAA. After their oil change and smog test, it developed the 'check engine light' problem. On the top of it, AAA overcharged me for the whole repair and parts which costed around $500. As per AAA reps, it is their standard practice. Purpose of my report is to publish such practices to people in the greater interest of the society.
