Aafes-Military Star Card, Armed Forces Exchange Sent my account to collections and won't let me pay it off!!!!! Dallas Texas

i left the military in June 2007.At the time I was cleared from the aafes store saying i would get a statement of my remaining balance.my husband was also military so we still lived on post for 6 more months before we pcs to hawaii.

i didnt realize the bill was in collections until i tried to return an item on my husbands account which was flagged 1 year later.they couldnt give me a balance or tell me where to send the check.i just wanted to get rid of this.

i was told that i had a bad check and they couldnt return my stuff.when i called the 800 number they said that it was my fault that i didnt get a statement and the military was 100% responsible and they didnt track their soldiers.i explained that i lived in my home for 6 months with no statement but they had no comment.

i was given an 800 number to call to pay the balance off however, the phone is always busy.no one ever answers it.i have sent emails and are still waiting on that.this is ridiculous they way that they are allowed to treat our veterans.

we serve our country and in return we have this company that has total control of our financial future.military moves are very stressful and time consuming.the last thing on my mind was did i get a statement from a 200 credit card.it took us 2 months to get a house!

this company is a horrible representative for our military.i also know for a fact i am not the only soldier that was taken advantage of.i cant even imagine what my balance of 200 is now after almost 2 years. all i wanted to do is get rid of this debt and this company.they are so powerful im afraid they will always take advantage of our service members.
