I was visiting my grandsons in Broward county, where I lived a 10 months ago and was only had plans on visiting through 8/9/07, then had to return home to Alabama. Since this same dealership overhauled my tranie not 2 years prior to this latest issue. So why wouldn't I return to them again, right? I didn't know what really was going on engine or tranie, etc. But this Aamco did everything.

When I was driving on highway, over 60 mph, when I had to take my foot off the gas pedal, when I pushed back down on the gas pedal to accelerate again the engine just acted like it was in nuetral. Then eventually the tranie slammed back into gear. It got so bad that I had to slow down to like 25-30 mph to get it to re-engage, with semi trucks barreling up behind me at 65-70 mph. So I knew I had a serious problem.

I dropped off the truck 7:30 am on 8/6/07, rented a car, received a call that the truck was done at 3:30 pm, 8/6/07, returned the rental car, paid Aamco $946.00 for repairs and drove off. Not one mile down the road the truck started doing the samething. I started crying cause I returned the rental car and would have to pay all over again for the same day. Got to Aamco and wanted to know what the hell I paid $946.00 for.

The next day they said come get it we fixed it, I returned the rental car again, didn't have to pay for the new repairs, they said the new part from the parts store was defective, they exchanged it for another new part, so I drive down the road again and I was in shock that the truck still was doing the same thing. I demanded my money back, they said call the police, the pope, the president, but I wasn't getting any money back. Now their telling me it must be an internal problem that they have to open up the tranie to get to the bottom of the problem.

Well again I left it and was at their mercy. They called me on 8/8/07 at 2:30 pm and said I have a cracked housing. 8/9/07 they called to tell me that 2 different parts stores delivered the wrong part and they found a place in kentucky that has it and it will be overnited.

This meant that it would not be delivered until Monday, 8/13/07. They called me at 4:30 PM and said it's done and the charges were $3,846.00, but they subtracted only 773.00 of the 1st repair bill, I was so upset if I didn't get the heck out of there I would have murdered someone and they already told me I had no recourse to start with.

Now after staying in a hotel and renting a car from 8/6-13/07, I was so stressed, I believe I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown or a heartattack. I have talked to 4 transmission specialist that said all I needed to have repaired in the 1st place was a selinoid governer. Very minimal repair cost. I can't afford a lawyer to persue this, anyone out there have any good suggestions? Class action suit maybe?

class action on overhaul FRAUD

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 11, 2007

its now a fact this is standard aamco practice to do this. my truck broke down 5 times before it would make it 60 mph on the fwy. eachtime they promised it was fixed. aamco does this to all of its customers and we are in the process of setting up some bait cars. this is corporate fraud at its best. contact mike in california. his contact is area code (((ROR REDACTED))). he is gathering a contact list of pottential plantiffs for the class action suit.
hope you can recoup cost.
