AUTHOR: Aamco Transmissions - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, July 20, 2015

Customer brought 2002 Chevy Tracker in for transmission repair.  The transmission unit was completely burned inside and required a major overhaul. The unit is a 4l60 E which we rebuilt for 3200.00 dollars including the torque converter.  The reasonbale expense was due to the additional hard part damage found inside the unit.

As the cusotmer states; he was allowed to use five hundred dollars in "gift cards" which is not cash as a form of payment.  The additional cash payment was made by the customer as an alternative to his personal check.  It is clearly stated in the lobby of our center that we accept all major credit cards but do not accept personal checks.

Customer returned complaining of a check engine light on after the repair.  AAMCO offered to inspect the vehicle for free and determined the check engine light was not on for the transmission repair  but was related to a sensor outside of the transmission.  Aamco offered to repair the sensor for the cost of the sensor only; no labor charge.  Customer declined the repair.

There is no rip off here, only a overhauled transmission with a 12 months/ 12,000 miles warranty.  And we invite the customer to return for the replacement of the sensor with no labor charge.
