Aames Home Loan ripoff, harrassment, bad business practices Los Angeles California

I got my first home loan from Aames Home Loan in october of 1999. At first we had no problems with them until about 6 months later I recieved our due payment and noticed a late charge. I contacted them and they said they had not recieved a payment. This was nonsense since the payment was mailed out 3 weeks prior to the due date (due on the first, late after the 10th of the month.) When I called them and told them there was no way they didnt have my payment there, and that it doesn't take 3 weeks to get mail. I let it slide until the next month same thing. Again I called them , and again they stated the same thing. So we paid them the late charges and I told them this was getting to be mundane. The late charges stopped for a bit. Then we went out of town. I knew we were one month behind on payment because of nothing but our own fault. Before we left we sent in two payments. Came home a week later and both checks were in the mail with a paper saying they won't accept it. (We would have been caught up by the way) So I called again. The csr said she didnt know why they hadn't accepted it. Then said " OOOh I see your in forclosure" This floored me. I said how can we be in forclosure due to we were only one month late and had sent in double payments to get back on track. She couldn't help me. Gave me a number to call. The next day I was livid. I called this "loan officer" She was the rudest person I had ever come to deal with. I was, of course, asking questions.

She didn't really ever answer me. But said I had to come up with 5000 dollars to get out of forclosure. I asked how it goes from 1200 to 5000 or if she just pulled that number out of the air. She stated its for reinstatement and lawyer fees. I asked how the heck I had to pay lawyer fees since I had recieved nothing in writing or phone calls or anything. She again wouldnt answer my questions. So after dealing with Ms. Rudeness I came up with the 5000 dollars and sent it in. But told her I wanted a break down of this 5000. She said she would send it. I never recieved any breakdown of this 5000 (still would like to know how it came to that much) . But get this, I payed them in november. Two months later I recieve a letter from a lawyer ( yes two months ) about the foreclosure. I called aames again and asked them why I got this letter they had no clue.
So things were ok with them until 5 months later. We missed a payment again it was late but sent in. I get a phone call and got literally cussed out by a supposed csr.

I just wanted this out there for those looking to buy a home from these crooked people. Don't use them . They will harrass , threaten, and do anything they can to make your life miserable.
