I purchased a house in December 7 of 2003. My loan went very smooth, maybe to smooth. By christmas I had gotten a letter stating my loan had been sold and my Janurary payment would still be due on the 1st except to the new lender. So knowing the housing ethics I knew it was going to happen sooner or later.
Janurary came around and my first payment was due so I made it to the bill I recieved from American Servicing Co. After my payment was made Aames started calling me and wanted the payment. I told them I did what they told me to do over the phone, which was pay the bank that sent me the bill.
Now this went on for two months I was paying American Servicing Co. and Aames wanted me to pay them also. Finally they got there act together and they quit harrasing me but they refuse to clean up my credit report.They make the mistakes and the public has to pay for it.

I have to agree with you 100%. I am sad to say that I am a former employee of Aames Home Loans or what they are know now as Home Funds Direct part of Accredited Home Lenders. Different name but the same crooks. The mentality with the company when they were Aames was rip clients off by charging them a maximum of 6% points and fees. They are hoping clients are dumb and too stupid to realize that they are getting ripped off.
The bottom line is the bottom line in this company. Company recruits great sales managers and idiot loan officers. They make sure that all the major aspects of the loans are kept out. They make sure all steps are deceptive in nature to ensure that the client closes. Many of the bad practices are due to poor management who only care about greed . But most of the clients are just as responsible for not taking the time to educate themselves on what other options are avaiable. Bottome line. Company is crooked as it gets. SEC and other state regulators need to step in, but they probablt don't even care.
