This company will encourage you to provide a post-dated check in a cunning way of "helping" you. If you cannot pay, return the merchandise.  They are not helping you, they are helping themselves.  It's illegal to give a post-dated check (so I thought).  Then if the check is no good, expect criminal or legal issues.

It is already known that if you use a rental/lease company for your needs that you can't afford to pay a lump sum so you can aleady expect to pay 1 - 2 times more then the merchandise is worth.

Do without!

Complaint Resolved

AUTHOR: Reasie - ()

POSTED: Monday, August 19, 2013

Aaron's contacted me today and there is an understanding that they are in the business of keeping the customer happy with their purchase and never to have to accept a return.  Robert explains that it is their practice to provide superior service and apologized for what I believed to be unacceptable service. Clarification of the request for a post-dated check or debit/credit card for the intent to pay is on the customer.  While I am well aware of that and will take responsibility for allowing encouragement to maintain an account with Aarons, I explained that it would be beneficial to Aarons and the customer to be informed of any reprecutions from insufficient funds upon presenting that said post-dated payment (I was too late in my contact to prevent the payment from being presented to my bank).

While I kept open communication with Aaron's, I found that in my situation, the compassion was not honest but a ploy to maintain a business relationship and payment.  I understand that this is a business and my hardship clouded my decisions and allowed me vulnerable. Most consumers that go the Aaron's route are not able to afford to purchase an item on credit or cash and carry.  With saying that, all consumers are not conscientious.

In educating myself and others that read this, it is important to be informed when signing a contract for places that rent to own.  Be prepared that hardships are likely and be prepared to expect the unexpected.  I would not recommend post-dating payments.  If you must, be certain you can honor it.  You will always be liable and in some cases as evident in other cases I have read, you can be criminally charged.  Do what is right.

Aaron's picked up their merchandise as promised.  I was allowed to discuss my feelings with a representative outside of the store and received an apology.

My issue was resolved.

Thank you Aarons.

After calling a little over an hour ago and being told they would pickup on Tuesday.... knock/knock/knock!  They're here to pickup!!!  What if I wasn't here???  So you just show up?

I shouldn't complain, right?  They came???  I'm so over this.  I promise!  I will sing no praise to Aaron's and hope no one ask my opinion.  Wait!  I'm giving it anyway!

Still Waiting another Day

AUTHOR: Reasie - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 14, 2013

After being told that I would receive a pickup today (Friday), I learn after calling that they cannot pick up the furniture because they don't have enough drivers.  Mmmm... I was told they couldn't tell me what time today so I expected to wait around for them.  Now they have no problem calling to say money is owed, but they couldn't call to say, "we'll be late" or "we won't be able to make it today".

The staff appear to be extremely nice but I still feel some deception here.  I am patient as they are always with me.  However, their company, Aaron's is not making the effort to accommodate me.  Unfortunate for me, this saga began from the day I signed the contract.  I can't afford the furniture any longer and I am ready to return it.  NOW!

WARNING!!  Something is NOT right and the other consumer reports seen regarding Aaron's is validating that this business is not about BUSINESS.

Still Waiting

AUTHOR: Reasie - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 14, 2013

I have asked Aaron's to pickup their bedroom/mattress because I am unable to comply with my contract.  I call, but yet they don't even have me listed for a pickup.  How do I know?  The person asked what are they picking up.

I agree, I can no longer afford my obligation, so pick it up!  No other tactics can be used to encourage me.  I don't want it.  My thought is they want me to keep it for the remainder of the month to satisfy the post-dated check.  I'd rather they tell me the truth if that's the case, just as I've been telling them.  Not all consumers are the scum of the earth.

Come get your merchandise and, NO, I'm not coming back.  And, No, I don't care to pickup the contract again.

I'll wait!
