I signed up for a blast fitness membership and was a member for over a year, always paid on time and never had any issues with my account. I cancelled my membership obn september 6th due to the fact that the location nearest my home had closed and i did not want to drive 20 miles out of my way to go to a busier location. I sent in my email along with the form they require to be attached to it. I received an automated response immediately saying they would contact me in a few days. After a few days I never received any other email or contact from anyone. I called them on the 10th of September to verify that my account had in fact been cancelled.

The person on the phone said it had been cancelled and that I would not receive any further bill. About a week later I received a bill for 49.99 stating that I owe an annual membership fee in order to cancel my account. I immediately called and was told that because it was within the 30 days of my cancellation that I am responsible for the annual fee and to email the company my original cancellation so they could take a look at it. I then emailed the company my original cancellation and all the documents supporting that I had cancelled before that period.

The company then proceeded to give me the run around in four different emails and kept asking me to send the same information. Finally i got the same response that I am still responsible for this fee. How can I be responsible for a fee on a membership that I cancelled and haven't used. What really bothers me is not that they seem to not care about their customers but that my boyfriend sent in the same cancellation on the exact same day as i did and he never received any additional fees or anything like this at all. I DO NOT LIKE THIS COMPANY ALL AND WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER MEMBERSHIP FROM THEM EVER!! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!

 Please look at several other complaints against this company and you will see that she answers everyone the same. I have a complaint in with the AGO for the state of AR and she tried to hide alot of critical paperwork that they requested, but I supplied them with it. I will have a lawsuit against them if they violate the ceast and desist order.

Step 1....get a new credit card....they will use a visa updater free card and attach it to your old card if you have a visa logo on your card. Call your bank.

Step 2...file a report with the Attorney Generals office in AR. Very easy to do. File a complaint with the BBB of AR very easy to do also.

Step 3... They will keep trying to get away with this unless you do more than just trying to complain on here.

Step 4... Write a ceast and desist letter from the FCRA website and mail it to the gym and to ABC Financial and include in the letter there legal team of Gill Elrod Ragon Owen and Sherman and rep Matthew Finch. Trying to help you here. It cost me $18.00 but it is well worth it for the AGO to also see the letter and the return receipt signed by them so now they can't say they never received the letter. Jeff Haas signed for ABC Financial.
