Able Mobile Housing provides temporary housing to families after a disaster i.e. fire, flood, etc or when a family desires to reside in a trailer on their property while reconstruction/new construction takes place.  The service can be paid through a consumer's insurance company or out of pocket.

What they offer is needed and can help a family gain some stability; the problem starts when Able contracts with vendors and construction contractors to perform their services.  A contractor is hired to move a mobile home unit (sizes 8 x 40 to DW 28 x 60) to the consumer's property.  The cost varies up to $12K at best.  The unit must be set, utilities connected along with other variables - as well the prior location of the unit is a storage facility that anticipates monthly payment for housing the unit.

Able touts itself to pay contractors within 30 days.  Many contractors have experienced slow payments, told their payment is pending beyond 30 days because the check is waiting to be signed by one of the owners in the accounting process. Funds may take years in some cases because a contractor's check has been pushed to the side week after week.  It is rumored that the money has been spent on mobile home parks owned by Wellington Grande Ltd.  It is a fact that some contractor's checks have bounced on more than 1 occassion. The contractor/vendor that screams the loudest or is needed most in a situation is the contractor that is paid and kept satisfied.

What is/has been frustrating to employees i..e Service Coordinators, Pick Up Housing Coordinators is that they are told by former and potential contractors and vendors "I will NEVER do business with Able again!" becasue of prior slow payment/no payment!

The owner and coordinators operate without integrity.  Talking to someone who wants to be paid for their services is disheartening when you know this is someone's livelyhood!  Consumers who are leasing the temporary unit have been threatened with liens on their property. Insurance companies have chosen not to refer their services to Able because of these practices.

Worst situation for me personally, when I informed the owner a vendor/contractor wants to be paid to continue to do work with Able, and his response is "Find someone else." Why wouldn't he choose to pay the contractor? Why wouldn't he consider his reputation, his word and initially our word to a contractor we've entered into a contract with SHOULD BE PAID FOR THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE!!!!
