When I went for a dental examine at Accent Dental a member of this dentist staff recommended I use this company (American Dental Care Inc.) to get discount pricing on dental work from Dr. Jeffrey Franks at Accent Dental.

So I called American Dental Care the next day a woman from American Dental Care named Lisa signed me up over the phone for this program she lied to me telling me I could cancel this dental plan at any time and restart it at any time on a monthly basis,it turned out later that they claim I was under a contract for one year and I couldn't get out of it until that year was up. Another woman at American Dental Care lied to me again after this telling me I would be dropped from the program but after this they claim still again I was under contract for one year and I had to pay the whole year.

On Feb.04,2005 I called Accent Dental in Pearland they seem to be involved in this scam. I called the office worker to complain about how I had been treated by American Dental Care, the lady I talk to there was rather apathetic about what happened. I told her I was going to make sure a lot of people in Pearland found out about Accent Dental being involved with these crooks, she seemed to pretended she was going to look into it so she could get rid of me and get me off the phone.

I was not satisfied how she handled it so I call back the next day and left a message with her to have Dr.Jeffrey Franks, the dentist, to call me that I wanted to talk to him,she took down my phone number and said OK he'll call you Monday. He never called back.

I was through with being treaded like that and I have since filed a complaint against Accent Dental and American Dental Care with the Pearland, Texas Police, A Pearland Police Officer help show me how to get this problem brought before the civil court in Pearland so we can get a judge to decide what is going on , he also showed me the procedures that would be helful if I picket these businesses.

First of all, your complaint is with the wrong entity. You called a discount dental insurance plan that offers lower fees for going to offices that accept the plan. That would be Americal Dental. Then you called an office and set up an appointment (?). You never say if you actually saw them. But apparently you never attended because the plan wyou signed up for was deemed a Rip Off. So since you seem to feel the dental office was in cahoots with the discount dental plan, you demand to speak to the doctor (?). If you are not an actual patient of record, the doctor is under no obligation to return your call. Secondly, I am an office manager of a dental practice and had you called insinuating the way you do  here, I would not pass your message along to the doctor either. If you did go to the dental office and then discovered that the plan was not as it claimed or did not cover you in that particular office, that too would be your fault. Nothing like a patient who claims that the dental office did not inform them that they ar enot a aprt of their insurance or discount plan. It is not their job to explain your benefits to the patient. It is the patient's responsibility to do their due dilligence and know what the plan provides. From all this, I find it likely that you faild to read the small print on the American Dental contract, hence your dilemma.
