I was interested in getting Used car warranty for my car and I clicked on a link to look up US Fidelis (Another Scam) and when i filled in my info still thinking it was the website for US FIdelis, I received a phone call from a company I never talked to..Access Warranty.  At first, the telemarketer or sales person, was nice and informative, putting down US Fidelis in every way he can calling them scam artists.  Then he was telling me what his company could do for me.  Many times I said i was trying to get a quote...then he gave it to me and tried to pressure me to pay $300 right there and then..a once in a lifetime opportunity because I wouldn't get that deal anymore if i call back. After 5 minutes of explaining that i don't pay for anything until

i get more info... he started to raise his voice at me telling me that I will never get a deal like that.  I told him again, that I won't pay ust like that and I don't appreciate the fact that he was pushing me and told him that I don't think its a good idea to get it from them.  He told me( and I quote) "You're the stupid one for buying a used car with 100,000 miles on it.  I then raised my voice and told him to put me on with a supervisor...some other person got on the phone and after complaining...he told me to stop complaining.

Ok, after that, they call me 7 times a day for 1 month now.  Once, I picked up the phone and I spoke to a guy named Mike.  He tried to be nice and when i told him that I didn't want anything to do with his company..he yelled at me and told me why am i wasting their time. ...I told him wait, you're the one who called me!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.  Literally, 5 minutes ago before I write this...they called me again and I spoke to another supervisor asking them to please remove me from the call list.  He told me that he couldn't do that.  Nice! The Attorney Generals office needs to step in and stop these people before they rob everyone

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Since the dawn of time

I worked for this company for quite some time. In their favor I have spoken to customers that bought and then used their warrantees with out problem and were very happy. Yes, they tell a diferrent story every day as to why you must buy now, during this phone call. If you live in Florida, state law there dictates the price of the warranty. They start out telling you the retail price a dealership would charge you and strongly imply the dealer can't sell you a warranty. Then they tell you their wholesale price. They hold back benefits and services and then give them to you during negotiations. "I was able to get you this..." You've been so patient I'll throw in the roadside assistance package free" The benefits come with the warranty anyway, just check the website. After all is said in done if the state of Florida says you must sell the warranty at the same price to all that's what they have to sell it to you for. My recommendation: The only thing you should ever buy over the phone is a subscription to the daily newspaper.

#2 UPDATE Employee

Current Employee with something to say

AUTHOR: Rob - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 09, 2010

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. First and foremost, Access Warranty is NOT owned by the former owners of US Fidelis. As far as I understand it, every States' Attorney General is looking for the owners of that compnay. We do not have access to their database of interested individuals. So I do not know how we would have called you after you called US Fidelis. You HAD to of filled out a form online requesting for us to call you.

SECONDLY: Access Warranty has been in business for 13 years now with (as of this posting) a BBB rating with the Better Business Bureau.

THIRD: EVERY PLAN that we sell has insurance backing. US Fidelis did NOT.

FOURTH: The companies that we write plans for have been in business selling auto warranty plans for a MINIMUM of 20 years.

There are a lot of scammers out there calling themselves auto warranty company's. My suggestion is as follows: If you are thinking of doing business with a company, look them up at the BBB. If it's an auto warranty that you are seeking, be certain that the company selling you the policy writes policies that are backed by insurance! It also wouldn't hurt to ask the rep how long has the administrator of the plan been in business. I hope this helps.

They are just like US Fidelis

How funny is it that the person called US Fidelis scam artists! (which they are.. actually, were, since they are out of business now.) This company is EXACTLY like US Fidelis. They use the exact high-pressure sale technique "if you don't take the offer now you won't ever get it again and we'll put your name in a black list" etc. I would not be surprised if it's the same company since US Fidelis has now gone out of business; they have changed their name before after scamming too many people and getting shut down, only to set up shop again with a new name to avoid the bad publicity they got. Be wary of any employees posing as satisfied customers who will no doubt reply to Rip-Off Reports or complaints on other websites. This is another tactic these types of companies use to con people who are researching them before purchase. In my opinion, the majority of these extended auto warranties are rip-offs... this one sounds like another company who will sell you a warranty for $1000 more than your car is even worth while they have no intention to ever pay you a dime if your car did break down.

I'm sorry to hear they are calling and driving you crazy. Its great that you saw the red flags and didn't buy into their BS, though. I had a similar experience with one of these scam companies, though it wasn't for an auto warranty. They were selling something on TV I called about once, decided against buying it because the shipping price was outrageous.. so they continued to call me every other day for a couple months. I bought an air horn and blasted it right into the phone receiver every time they did until the calls stopped!

These auto warranty companies are always getting into trouble, either for not paying on their bogus warranties or FTC violations (abusive employees, using auto-dialers for telemarketing, etc.) So I'll be willing to bet with the amount of complaints against them the Atty. General will shut this one down too. I just wish they would stay out of business for good instead of changing their names and coming back with the same old scams.

My advice to everyone is: Don't buy into these extended warranty scams especially if you can't go through that warranty with a fine toothed comb before you purchase. If you can't have that warranty paper physically in front of you to read it for yourself and see what exactly is covered, that is a huge red flag! In my opinion it's better to put a little bit of money aside every pay-check to prepare for emergencies like car repairs, but if you must buy an aftermarket warranty don't just take the sales persons word for what it covers. They will lie about everything because you're just $$ to them.
