Accord Financial Group, Patrick Dickson, Charles Lee, Angela Louis Loyalty reward program scam Toronto Ontario

I received a check in the mail today from Accord Financial Group in the amount of 3900.00. It is a very "real" looking check drawn on First State Bank, Hemphill, Tx. The letter that accompanies the check states that I have won a rewards lottery and the check is to cover the applicable taxes.

I called the number in the letter and the first call went to a voicemail that was "full". A second call was made and I actually spoke to someone. The two people whose names appeared on the letter were conveniently off but I was instructed to deposit the check and call them once it cleared into my account. The remainder of my 39000 winnings would then be overnighted to me.

Although I am certain this is a scam, I am going to call the bank on which the check is drawn first thing Monday morning.

Don't be fooled.
