I too have had all these same problems with AccountNow's debit card, and when I investigated them after receiving the "exact same" responses as I have seen on this site and dozens of other sites, I found out a lot of useful information that I feel now requires we band together and file a class action lawsuit against AccountNow, because my findings show they are fully aware of the problems everyone is having and most of all when I managed to get in touch with a guy who works for them that told me everything i uncovered is 100% correct and the company knows it, and will not change it, but most of all, makes their employees sign a nondisclosure document that prevents them from discussing any and all of their business practices out of the office with anyone who does not work for AccountNow.
The employee who confirmed my findings has worked for AccountNow for some time now and because of the current complaint boom, is concerned for his job so if absolutely necessary and by court order only will testify as to everything he knows to be true within the AccountNow company. Things that you would not believe! Do they hold deposits as long as they can to make interest? Yes the do. Are they really so busy that you have to sit on hold for, in my case, I have documented several calls which I sat on hold for an excess of 45 minutes and never did get to speak to anyone, one call I wanted to see how long I would be able to sit on hold so I picked a day I was not busy and called them with a complaint, I was placed on hold for a different department, now it was a regular work day, not a holiday or weekend, and I documented a wait time of just over four hours, and never got to speak with anyone.
Lets talk about the responses they will send you if you complain, I documented responses to 18 people who complained about similar problems, and I found that AccountNow uses 9 different cookie cutter responses for 9 different complaints, and the responses with the exception of the persons name is word for word exactly identical, be it received by forum, email, letter, or text message. I contacted three different certified public accountants and asked them to calculate the interest that AccountNow would likely make in a single week by simply holding onto a deposit for three days. The accountants checked with the stock exchange to come close to the number of customers they have then figured a average persons income who would put their paychecks threw direct deposit and several other ways to be as accurate as they could be on what AccountNow could likely make in just interest on holding deposits three days.
I nearly fainted when all three came within a couple thousand dollars (not that much when you know the big picture) and in just one week, AccountNow nets over three million in just simple straight interest, however they pointed out that AccountNow likely has special interest rates they get because of the shear volume of money they handle weekly, which can in all likelihood be six times what straight interest would pay. Then what really gets my goat is AccountNow charges every time you call the and they put you on hold, they charge you if you want to use a atm to check your balance (well unless you use their atm's but I have been all over Wisconsin and have never found one of theirs yet).
Now they say they post deposits as soon as they get them or on the date they are told to post it by the original sender. Which this is also a lie, I started three debit accounts by three other banks on the internet, I know three people who get Social Security, Veterans benefits, and a government pension. All of which are to e deposited (in this state) on a Monday for one, a Wednesday for the second, and a Thursday for the last. when they set up direct deposit for all three deposits by all three government agencies, told the agencies they needed correct accurate deposit information, sent to them by USPS and I am sure that the government would keep very accurate records of the monies they pay out.
After three months of direct deposits by all three government agencies to all three of the other people, we discovered that when all three people contacted AccountNow, were told that AccountNow made the deposits when they got them and by the date set by the original sender, which by the governments payment and transmission of the deposits records, which showed actual confirmation of when AccountNow received the deposits, and when compared to the times the deposits were actually deposited was between two and three days after they had the deposit and after the deposit date set buy the originating governmental agencies. I proved by three people and three other bank cards that AccountNow was the only back that held the deposits longer than they needed to.
Finally AccountNow offers a $25 bonus when you go with direct deposit, with the three other people as well as myself all met the requirements to receive the $25 bonus which was to be paid withing 30 days of meeting the requirements, none of us ever saw a dime of this fictitious bonus, also you are to make $75 for referring a friend and I referred all three of the other people who helped with this fact finding quest. I was present and all requirement with all three of the other people were completed exactly as pointed out in the terms and conditions, yet I haven't seen a dime of that money either and it is past the time they "say" you are to receive it.
The pending deposit and text message as a current deposit being made, so you know the money is in your account, seems like it is very random, however after watching the four accounts, mine and the three other peoples, it only seems random but rather has a very perfect pattern. So it is time we band together and file a class action lawsuit against AccountNow but to start this action you must first file a complaint at this address online about AccountNow and clearly express exactly what they are doing and the lack of response or customer service the company provides, include all correspondence and a copy of your phone bill showing how long you sat on hold with AccountNow's customer service department. The web address for this online federal regulation complaint is at. . .
http://www.federalreserveconsumerhelp.gov/about/consumer-complaint.cfm After you file the complaint join the class action lawsuit and lets get AccountNow to pay back all the money we have lost due to excessive waiting to post our direct deposits. Be sure to keep track of any and all things you experience such as being evicted, losing your home to foreclosure, late fees you get for being late on your payments and other such things that they will have to reimburse you for because of their actions. There is millions of dollars being received by AccountNow for the way they treat their customers, that the customers never ever see a penny of. NOW IS THE TIME TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! So lets get things started, I have proven AccountNow is abusing their customers trust and must be made to pay for it.
