OK, first of all, why are you yelling at me? I'm explaining to you what you don't understand.

Secondly, if there were no cracks in the block or heads, the only other deductions would be for the crankshaft or camshafts.

Did you thoroughly inspect the engine for cracks? Did you use a microflux to do so? Cracks aren't only cracks if they're visible to the naked eye.

Let me ask you something. If a German came to the US, and didn't know about our custom of tipping, would he have a right to be mad we expect people to tip in this country?

If that is the case the company or companies should not assume everyone is mechanically inclined.  I WAS TOLD THAT AS LONG AS THE BLOCK AND HEADS HAD NO CRACKS THE CORE FEE WOULD BE RETURNED.  This is one of the problems with our country, AS A CONSUMER I WAS TOLD ONE THING, AFTER I MADE THE PURCHASE I WAS TOLD SOMETHING DIFFERENT;  WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BEING TOLD THE TRUTH!!!!!!

If a core is not rebuildable, it is not a "core" - it is a "non-rebuildable core." Every company in the industry deals with cores the way yours has been dealt with, though most will pro-rate it - if the short block isn't rebuildable but the heads are, they'll give you 40% of your core deposit back.

"Core deposit" is essential - it is a deposit, refundable based on whether the core can be remanufactured or not.

The thing is, no company making remans caused your engine to fail. They didn't cause the nature of the failure, and they didn't determine what was and wasn't rebuildable.

You're frustrated over $300, and I understand that, but you're also frustrated because of a basic misunderstanding of terms - again, understandable.
