I brought my vehicle in because it had stopped working on me. Corey Hopkins, the owner, told me that pistons had become stuck and cracked my engine. He said they could rebuild the engine for $6500 or put in a new engine for $4100. I decided to have them replace it for the cheaper option.

It took them nearly a month to get my vehicle back to me. Once they did, I drove off of the lot and had my Check Engine light come on. I went back and the owner told me that it was normal and that I should run it a bit and give it time to come off. I did and the light never came off. I brought it back and he kept it for a while and returned it to me after I paid $350 and he said he replaced some hoses and leaks. A couple of months later, the car began driving really rough. I took it back to his shop. He called me and told me it was a few leaks and that it would cost $350 to fix. I told him to go ahead and fix it.

I went to pick my car up and it was still driving pretty rough. I called him to let him know and he told me that they forgot to change the oil and that once I changed it, it would drive a lot smoother. I took it to get an oil change where a shop told me that they had never seen oil like this before (I have this in writing). The oil smelled like gas and was a mix of coolant and oil and was milky looking. The shop was closed for the day. The next day, I had to drive it to pick up my child. I drove it and coming back home my vehicle overheated. I was able to drive it home with the heater on full blast.

The next day (Sunday) since the shop was closed, I asked a friend who is a mechanic to look at it. He told me that there was water in the engine. I began telling him about having got my engine replaced and he said "this engine has never been replaced". I didn't believe him but he pointed out a few things, such as nuts that had never been touched, etc. He also pointed out a lot of bad workmanship I hadn't really paid attention to. They had put zip ties around a few things and had used black caulking and did a mess of a job with it to top it off.

I took my vehicle to Accurate Transmission the next day and just told them my car overheated. He said he would call the people he got the engine from later in the week because the main man was on vacation. He kept my car for a month and I called him nearly daily until he finally told me the people he got the engine from did not want to help me out. I got my car towed from there to another shop. I asked them for a full diagnosis and I also asked for this mechanic's professional opinion on the engine having been replaced and he also said it did not appear replaced. He said he had no proof but if I really wanted to, I could find the VIN somewhere on the engine. I had the vehicle towed to my home.

Once home, I got my phone in recording mode and stuck my hand behind the engine. After reviewing the video, I found the VIN. The VIN still matched my vehicle's VIN. My engine was never replaced. He charged me for an engine I never got. When I confronted the owner, he denied it even though I showed him pictures, his receipts and proof that he had committed fraud. This is theft. There has to be something that can be done against this place. They do not deserve to be in business. It should be closed down. My sole mission as of right now is to ensure that everyone in Brazoria County knows about this thieving company.

Also, on their Yellow Pages reviews page, they actually have people that work there and family members posting the "awesome" reviews of this place. I found that out through Facebook. It's sickening that these people make a living off scamming people.
