It took me a while to put all of the pieces together and figure out exactly how we were being financially raped by this company, but now I've got it.  Because this "company" uses three different business names to confuse its customers, other may have the same trouble.  We are a military family that has finally been given a duty station that will last a while.  We were working on our credit successfully, but still had a long way to go when we found a house that we loved.  In an effort to try getting things done quickly we agreed to the offer this company presented.  This is how it happened to us.

Matthew at IMC Capitol (extension 117) contacted me and let me know that he could run a comprehensive credit report for $59, and if our credit was something they could work with, he would call and let us know our options.

Matthew emailed our credit reports and called to let me know that "our credit is exactly the type they're looking for."  He explained that since most of our credit issues were due to small scale collections and charge-offs, it would be no problem to have many of them removed.  He guarunteed us a 100 point rise within 3 months, but confidently told me that he thought a rise of 150 points was very likely.  This program would cost $700, but the $59 credit report fee would count towards the program cost.  I agreed.

About two days later I got login information for a site called creditstatusnow.com, where I would be able to view progress on my credit report as items were removed.  After 2 months my credit score had DROPPED 30 points due to disputes.  I called the contact number provided which took me to "Commercial Credit Consultants."  I had a fit and told the woman on the line that I just wanted them to stop what they were doing.  She told me that there were 30 more days (approx) until I could request my refund.  She quieted my anger and I fell for her explanation that I needed to be patient and things would bounce back up as things dropped off of my report.

I never recieved ANY letters from anywhere to submit to them as they asked.  I started noticing bank drafts for the amount of $159.98 from COMM CR.  I left "notes" on creditstatusnow.com requesting my refund when the 3 months was up, and got an email stating that I actually had a 6 month plan and could not request a refund until the end of six months.  I patiently waited and watched my credit score get worse.  On June 5 (the date they stated I could get my refund) I requested it again, and have had no contact all from anyone.  In addition, I had another debit from my bank account show up for $159.98 - this time under the company name of Accurise.

RUN AWAY!!!  This has now cost us over $1200, and after working on our own credit for a year and raising it 100 points, they have only taken 6 months to take away 30-40 points each on my credit as well as my husband's.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Scam all the way.

AUTHOR: Pissed Off Person - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 27, 2011

I use to work for this company over a year ago.  To say the least, I was a bit surprised when I found out they were still actually in business.  This place has scam written all over it.  Maybe 1 out of 100 customers actually get results, and once they get your credit card or checking account number it is all over.  They will repeatedly bill you over and over and make it as difficult to contact them as possible.  The promise the world, and deliver nothing.  They charge you for a credit report that is the same report you can get right from the credit bureau for only $19.95, as a matter of fact, they buy it from the same place you do!  Then they do a little bit of creative copier work to make it look a little different.  They often use terms like "tier three" or "comprehensive" bureau in order to make it sound more fancy than it is.  To be honest, there is no such thing as a tier three, or a comprehensive bureau.  Call any real back, they will tell you the same.

They also have in the past claimed DOJ certification, or other various legal certifications, all which are false.  They even attempt to steal the technology of their vendors.  90% of all employees catch on to the scam quick and leave as quick as they can.  I was unfortunate enough to stay a little while longer and have now long last forgotten about the thousands the company owes me in pay.

The reason this company keeps playing the "you must wait xx number of months prior to requesting a refund" is simply because they are playing the time game.  They know that if you wait long enough, you will fall outside of the statute of limitation for chargeback and also the statute of limitations for lawsuits.

If you decide to take a gamble with this company, please keep this is mind- this company is working 100% outside of the law.

Please note the following from the FTC code regulating this business:

CHAPTER 2--CREDIT REPAIR ORGANIZATIONS(1)

SEC. 2451. REGULATION OF CREDIT REPAIR ORGANIZATIONS.

SEC 404. PROHIBITED PRACTICES.

(4) engage, directly or indirectly, in any act, practice, or course of business that constitutes or results in the
commission of, or an attempt to commit, a fraud or deception on any person in connection with the offer or sale of the services of the credit repair organization.
(b) Payment in Advance.--No credit repair organization may charge or receive any money or other valuable
consideration for the performance of any service which the credit repair organization has agreed to perform for any consumer before such serviceis fully performed.

This company fails to do the above.

SEC. 405. DISCLOSURES.(9)
(a) Disclosure Required.--Any credit repair organization shall provide any consumer with the following written statement before any contract or agreement between the consumer and the credit repair organization is executed:
'Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law

You have a right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly. However, neither you nor any ''credit repair'' company or credit repair organization has the right to have accurate, current, and
verifiable information removed from your credit report. The credit bureau must remove accurate, negative information from your report only if it is over 7 years old. Bankruptcy information can be reported for 10 years.

You have a right to obtain a copy of your credit report from a credit bureau. You may be charged a reasonable fee. There
is no fee, however, if you have been turned down for credit, employment, insurance, or a rental dwelling because of information in your credit report within the preceding 60 days. The credit bureau must provide someone to help you interpret the information in your credit file. You are entitled to receive a free copy of your credit report if you are unemployed and intend to apply for employment in the next 60 days, if you are a recipient of public welfare assistance, or if you have reason to believe that there is inaccurate information in your credit report due to fraud. You have a right to sue a credit repair organization that violates the Credit Repair Organization Act. This law prohibits deceptive practices by credit repair organizations.

You have the right to cancel your contract with any credit repair organization for any reason within 3 business days
from the date you signed it.

This company also fails to do the above.

SEC. 406. CREDIT REPAIR ORGANIZATIONS CONTRACTS.(10)
(a) Written Contracts Required.--No services may be provided by any credit repair organization for any consumer--
(1) unless a written and dated contract (for the purchase of such services) which meets the requirements of subsection
(b) has been signed by the consumer; or
(2) before the end of the 3-business-day period beginning on the date the contract is signed.
(b) Terms and Conditions of Contract.--No contract referred to in subsection
(a) meets the requirements of this subsection unless such contract includes (in writing)--
(1) the terms and conditions of payment, including the total amount of all payments to be made by the consumer to
the credit repair organization or to any other person;
(2) a full and detailed description of the services to be performed by the credit repair organization for the consumer, including--
(A) all guarantees of performance; and
(B) an estimate of--   (i) the date by which the performance of the services (to be performed by the credit repair
organization or any other person) will be complete; or   (ii) the length of the period necessary to perform such services;
(3) the credit repair organization's name and principal business address; and
(4) a conspicuous statement in bold face type, in immediate proximity to the space reserved for the consumer's
signature on the contract, which reads as follows: 'You may cancel this contract without penalty or obligation at any time before midnight of the 3rd business day after the date on which you signed the contract.

See the attached notice of cancellation form for an explanation of this
right.'.

Last but not least, the company fails to do the above.

If you have ever been charged a single cent prior to any work being done, you need to contact:

The Public Reference Branch

Federal Trade Commission

Washington, D.C. 20580'.

If they did not inform you in writing that you would be charged monthly, quarterly, or any additional fees for work, or clearly stated that some fees were set up fees, or violated any of the above mentioned act, contact the FTC and an attorney.  I am sure many attorneys would gladly work with you to shut these guys down, as well as the FTC.

Same Problem!

I too have had the same problem with this company. They are an illegal company being investigated for fraud by the FTC. All you have to do is call your credit card company and request a chargeback of the funds you paid to them. Thats what I did!

Recorded Response

AUTHOR: Accurise Customer Care - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 27, 2011

We have reviewed this clients account and the facts are simply misstated.   She and her husband had us review their credit reports in December of 2010 and joined our credit repair program in January of 2011.   Our system works best as a partnership and collaboration between ourselves and our clients.    Despite our attempts to communicate that we needed all reports back from the credit bureaus, she was unable or unwilling to send us any for herself or her husband despite the fact that we sent 36 dispute letters on their behalf.  We finally refreshed their credit histories in our files so we could get a sense for what was actually happening.

When they started they had a multitude of negative reporting items.  We were able to get a total of 63 negative items removed from her report across the three major credit bureaus and her score average  improved by 23 points, despite the fact that during the same period,  creditors  added 25 additional negative reports  with the bureaus.  On her husbands report we were able to get a total of 49 negative items removed, but unfortunately creditors added 16 negative items to his report - and since his credit profile was more vulnerable to these negative items his score actually dropped 28 points.  Had he not had additional negative items added, he would almost certainly have enjoyed a significant score increase as well.

We are easy to find and to talk to, and we had extensive correspondence with this client via our online system.   We are proud of our 100% money back guarantee which simply states that if we are unable to get any negative items removed from a clients report within 180 days of their joining our program we will refund the money they have paid us.  In this case, even though we made numerous improvements to their reports and did not owe any refund, we still opted to return a months worth of service fees as a gesture of good will.  We have done exactly what was requested of us and we stand by the excellent results we obtained for them.
