Accushield Financial - Debtco Misled me, ruined my credit, canceled service with me and owe me a refund but refuse to give it to me. Worst mistake of my life! Las Vegas Nevada

Accushield (formerly Debtco and I believe they have changed their name again--to what I don't know!) told me they would close my credit card accounts, reduce my debt. I paid them $600-something upfront which was supposed to be the only fees I paid them. Thereafter they were automatically debiting $275 from the checking acct per month. They were to negotiate w/ my debtors. I was supposed to be out of debt in about 3 years. They never sent me statements (the only ones I received were via e-mail with attachments that I could not open.) I called requesting statements several times and was told they would send but never did. They started deducting $ and putting it in their own pocket and not putting my full $275/mo toward my debt. Also, one of my debtors refused to work with them so I had to negotiate with them myself anyway.

Accushield then canceled my service without even notifying me (their reason is that I failed to communicate with them--which I did not fail at; they would not even send me a statement!!!). But, they kept taking money from me, after they had settled the last of my accounts that they settled (which was actually the one I had to settle myself.) I gave them 4 accounts to settle, and they only settled ONE. And, it was the smallest.

So, I should have been out of debt in 3 years; after 4, I still had over half of my debt. Also, they owe me for several months' worth of payments--around $3000 for the money they took without putting toward my debt.
They never notified me they were ceasing handling my accounts, kept taking my money, and won't give it back. Also, I think before ceasing, I suspect that they were only putting about $100 of my $275 toward my debt!! That is my guess by calculations but I can't even be sure because they would not ever send me a statement!!!
My credit was great before this ordeal. I always made payments on time, it was just getting to be too much and I wanted to be debt-free. I'm a single mother and don't get much help from my disabled ex. I have a university degree and hope to buy a home one day, but my credit has been ruined because of this company!! It is horrible.
