Words cannot express how disappointed I am in Across USA. First let me say that all of my stuff was in storage already professionally packed so this should have been a very easy move for them to execute. The quote given to me was for $3700.00 and their estimated pickup date was for 28 Dec 09. They came to pick everything up 2 days late on 30 Dec 09, and they called me to tell me that the load was more than originally thought. I am 15,000 miles from the storage location in Dallas due to my work currently being in Australia and my wife and family have relocated to Virginia, so I have no way to dispute their claim. The final bill was for $7400.00 or twice what the estimate was. They told me that everything was already loaded on the truck when they gave me the new bill and I was stuck. In fact they had not even loaded the truck yet and that did not occur until 5 Jan 10. They also told me that they would take pictures of the loaded truck and give me all the paperwork necessary to prove that the total volume had increased from thier estimate of 1440 cubic feet to the new total of 2700 cubic feet. I never got any of this proof. I booked Across USA 30 days before I needed my household goods to arrive and they could not even get it delivered on the requested date of 7 Jan 10. They did deliver the goods the next day, 8 Jan 10. So to summarize their performance, they charged me twice the estimate, defrauded me and did not deliver on the requested date.
