Just be careful, they are very nice when they first talk to you, theN, as soon as you sign the contract, it changes.  We moved from St-Sauveur to Vancouver Island, since they picked up our move it has been a nightmare.  They delivered more than a month later than promised, our dishes were broken, wardrobes squashed and a very expensive bike went missing.  They picked up 3 bikes and delivered two, a thriathlon bike that was very important to us and we had paid extra insurance (to them... so is there even an insurance company ?).  

The list they wrote when they picked up indicated 3 bikes, the delivery guy acknowledged that there were only 2  delivered.  Easy enough to figure out. It has been lost or stolen when it was in their care.  So, it should be the moment when the insurance comes into play or even Customer Service would take care of it immediately if it was a honest company.

It has now been six months and they are refusing to reimburse us, even though we have provided receipts for the 3 bikes, they even went as far as asking us to provide the specific value of every box.... like you remember that....they take months to answer a letter, they absolutely don't care.  We have had to hire a lawyer and they are not even answering him.  

We will not give up which is what they are hoping for.  I wonder how many other people are in this situation....

So, my advice, don't go for the lowest quote, hire a reputable company.  It is not worth the aggravation and the loss of property, plus all the expenses we had to incur while waiting for our move for a month.  We ended up here without our stuff for a month, and they are telling us it is our fault.  Very very dishonest!  No customer service whatsoever, except for that Brian guy who is nice on the phone at the beginning, then of course, he's gone!  REMEMBER THE NAME "Action", tell every one you know to stay away from them.

There was a purchase order submitted along with pictures

The different prices were the price we paid and the replacement value now, with the extra expensive wheels that were on the bike at the moment of the "loss".

They know all that!  They are just extremely dishonest.  

They offered $103.00.... it is a joke and guess what, do you think they sent it ?  We got nothing !

It is amazing that with the number of complaints about them on different sites on the internet that they can still be in business.  But I believe in Karma...

It has now been almost a year... I hope they one day meet someone like them... they will know how it feels to get ripped off.

Dear Readers,

This is a special case... We are very sorry that we were not able to settle this author's claim in HER favor. We have verified with our insurers on two separate occasions and they will not authorize us to process this claim. This is due to the fact, that the author did not insure her shipment with our company on May 24, 2012, for a sufficient amount. Our signed contract states that the author requested an insurance value of $10,000.00 to cover her entire shipment.

This shipment consisted of 97 items giving her a replacement value of approx $ 103.00 per item, in case of loss or damage... And now the author is stating one item missing is a bike at $ 2200.00 oh wait no, the price changed to $3569.99 by the second letter, without being able to provide us with an actual purchase invoice, of said missing bike, only estimates of what it would cost to purchase another bike of their choice...

No proof of the price nor prior ownership of such an extravaggant item. She claims that it is ridiculous to ask for an invoice dated 2 years in the past, however she provided copies for the two other bikes she had in her shipment... invoices dated from 2006.. each for under $900. So It is only understandable that we need proof.

Since a claim with our insurers was rejected, our company, Action Moving and Storage has taken it upon ourselves, to try to settle this claim. We offered the above client a compensation of $ 500.00, minus the deducible to settle this claim, which, without proof of purchase for such an "expensive" item, is pretty reasonable, given the insurance purchased would have only alloted her $103.00 not $500.00.
