As we were trying to find parking for a cancer benefit that was being held at the Carriage Haus. Apparently we found a bad spot. I was trying to find a parking spot somewhat close to the venue in order to carry in some equipment. I am the singer of the band that had donated its time for entertainment. As we left our vehicle for a short time , in which now we can clearly see the tow away warning. But let me tell you, when its two degrees outside , and you need to carry equipment , you dont really look for such things. Anyway, I understand that we made a mistake.

But now all of the sudden , its $ 214.00 to have your car towed to a location that isnt even a mile away? Well , I have a hard time believing that. I called and explained that we would like to pick the car up that night. And that we were only there for a cancer benefit making our donation, and that were not aware of the parking situation in said areas. There were several vehicles that were towed from the area. They were people that dont frequent the area , and dont understand why you can park in one spot but not another.

I hope that the people at Action Towing are proud of themselves for probably making over a thousand dollars off of people who were there trying to help a friend with hard times. The person the benefit was for , wrote the check. After being told of this situation, they showed no understanding at all. I am surprised at this, and embarrassed to have business owners like this in the Quad Cities.

Parked illegally deserves consequence

AUTHOR: Tina - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, November 20, 2017

No I'm not from the company but you sound like the typical person on Parking Wars from TV. YOU parked illegally, so deal with the consequences. It doesn't matter what the temperature is, no matter how cold it is, and it has nothing to do with the fact that it was a cancer benefit (except you're using it as an excuse for people to feel sorry for you).

The fact of the matter is that you parked ILLEGALLY and there are consequences for doing that. It is a set price for parking like you did no matter how far they towed you. The property owner is who contracted them and wants the parking violations enforced. Don't want to pay that kind of money? Then obey the signs. Very simple.
