I had a party here this past Saturday for my two year old and I am absolutely disappointed to say the least. I had been calling two weeks before the party to follow up on small details and the staff had not called me back until five days before the party. When I was speaking with them, they put me on hold for 15 minutes and told me they "forgot" I was waiting on the phone. Then during the phone call, I asked that if people were to arrive a few minutes late, if it was possible to push the party back up to 15-20 minutes and they said yes.

Upon arrival, there was an apparent accident on the highway during the travel to the party which caused our guests to be a few minutes late. The staff asked me if we would like to get started and I replied "No, because as you can see, the birthday boy is the only one here right now" and they said okay.

It wasn't until 4:20pm that they told me I had already been 25 minutes into my party! Are you kidding me?! I explained to them that I had been told I had a 15-20 minute interval waiting time and they said they never said that! Already pissed off, I said whatever and allowed them to take us to our first party station, Adventure Maze. Once we were in there, the host literally told us to put our stuff down on the chairs/cubbies and left us to fend for ourselves.

I was told there would be staff on-hand during the party to help with the kids and assist us! This was not the case. There were several children in the Adventure Maze area that WERE NOT part of my party and the staff was not helpful in removing the unwelcome guests. I had to tell them several times to kick them out. I was paying for a PRIVATE party section and that is what I expected.

Then, the host didn't show up until 15 minutes after the party in that section started and opened the rock wall for my guests. The rock wall should have been opened SINCE THE BEGINNING since I was paying an extra fee to have it open for 30 full minutes. They explained they are "short-staffed" so they couldn't have it open! How is that my problem?! Why did I have to pay the full amount for something that was not open for the full time allotted?!

After the Adventure Maze, we went to the Inflatables section where there was one staff member in each of the three inflatables, which was fine... until I went into one of the inflatables and caught one of the staff members SHOUTING at my little cousin for jumping! I was BEYOND LIVID! ITS A BOUNCE HOUSE FOR GOODNESS SAKE AND I WAS STANDING THERE THE WHOLE TIME. She had done NOTHING wrong. I, in turn, shouted at the staff member because it was NOT his place to talk to any of the children in the way that he did. I explained that if there was an issue with one of the children, he should have spoken to ME directly.

Once leaving the Inflatables section, we headed to the party room for food and cake. There was ONE staff member handing out pizza and juice to the kids and once he was done with that, he walked out and no other staff member came in until the last 5 minutes! Instead of enjoying my son's party, I had to act as the host and help the kids and adults! There weren't enough paper plates or cups for the party, and there were NO NAPKINS!!!! How do you host a party for a bunch of children and have no napkins available?! THAT IS ABSURD!

Then after that, they brought in the cake, sang happy birthday and LITERALLY BUTCHERED our VERY EXPENSIVE birthday cake. The "slices" of cake looked like it had just been crumbs!!!  Then at the end, one the party hosts cane to me to tell me the party is over and he's new so he asked me how to kick everyone out! How do you "kick" them out?! I AM NOT YOUR MANAGER. How about you TRAIN your hosts!!!!

We all left the party area shortly after and they handed out our party favors in the arcade area then told us to relocate to the waiting area to be checked out. We had to wait 30 minutes to be checked out because "the party coordinator was cutting somebody else's cake" !!!! WHY WOULD YOU HAVE YOUR GUESTS WAIT TO BE CHECKED OUT?! Whenever we finally did check out, they overcharged me.

I got charged for 18 kids when I was told I would have a 2 kid credit if they didn't show up! I also had to pay the full price for rock climbing when I only received 15 minutes of service instead of the full 30 minutes. Then I needed to pay a 20$ gratuity to the party hosts that WERE not helpful!

Customer Returned To Book another party

The customer who filed their complaint returned to book another party 5 years later because her son wanted his party at Active Kidz. Once we discovered this was the same customer we suggested this was not a good idea because of the damage the complaint had done to our reputation and returned their deposit. It is hard to believe that this customer would return to book another party if their experience had been as terrible as described.

Active Kidz is a family entertainment center that hosts birthday parties and group outings. At the end of the party that Active Kidz hosted for Ms. Amit, she paid her bill and gave a gratuity to the staff. She did not complain nor did she express any problem with the party.  One day later we received in an email complaining about her party.

We reviewed security camera video of the entire party and found that not only did Ms. Amit receive the services she contracted for, but extra accommodations were made for her.  At no time did she complain about the quality of services to the owner, party coach, or front desk staff who were on site during the party.  We also interviewed the party leader and he confirmed that Ms. Amit did not at any time complain about the party to him.

We believe this complaint is without merit and that Ms. Amit is attempting to get a discount on her party because many of her guests came late and she was frustrated that Active Kidz could not give her more time in the attractions because there were already other parties booked there.

We strive to make sure that every birthday at Active Kidz is special. It is unfortunate that Ms. Amit does not believe that whether the kids have a wonderful experience is what is most important.
