Active Periodicals has struck again..ripping our company out of $700.. Deerfield Beach Florida

After filing a complaing with the BBB of Florida, I was contacted by a Kristen Hill who states she is the manager and does not work in the collections department. I was misled with deceptive language into agreeing to a NEW account of 4 magazines to the tune of $700. I was told I was paying off our existing account.

As most people have stated about Active Periodicals, all Kristen did was pull up my documented call which she states clearly shows that I agreed to a NEW and DIFFERENT account. Of course the conversation with the telemarketers is not recorded so they have you agreeing to something you had no idea you were agreeing to. I was only able to get a $350.00 refund (not the $700 they conned me out of) but my subscription is being cancelled.

Kristen Lee's phone number is 800-553-7633 x 200 and it was quite obvious she did not want me giving out her name when I told her I would contact our attorney. Seems the only way you can get a manager to talk to you is to file a BBB complaint against them. Of course Kristen denies Active Periodicals has any bad complaints against them and said "we couldn't stay in business if that were true." Take my word for it, DO NOT do business with Active Periodicals. It will save you a severe headache!!!

After trying to contact this company for several weeks, I read the message from Kristen in New York. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and filed a report with the State of Florida's telemarketer consumer fraud department. I was called by a Kristen Lee in the customer service department after she received the complaint from the BBB. I faxed her a copy of our bank statement showing the amount withdrawn out of our account and she is in the process of putting the money back in our account.
