Adam Cohen real estate broker Handsome Devil Enterprises, Inc. Real Estate Rip-off. Beware of dealing with father and son team claiming to be Ivan and Adam Cohen. Delray Beach, Florida

On February 5, 2009, I went to see a condo at 48 Suffolk B in Century Village West in Boca Raton.  I was with a real estate agent who had found the property for me.  We were greeted by two men claiming to be Adam and Ivan Cohen.  (Actually saw a license which placed Ivan's birthday on February 5.)  They had a key to the apartment and knew the renters who were occupying the dwelling.  The unit was a disaster, but they were selling it cheap.  Adam said his dad was over-extended and needed to sell some of his properties and Adam said he was helping his dad out.  Very smooth, these two.  Chatty and friendly.

I gave Adam a cash down payment and we signed a contract.  I paid the $100 to be approved by the association.  Months passed and Adam finally emailed my agent and told him that there were "unwarranted" fines and liens on the property that he had to clear up.  Months passed.  Many emails and phone calls but no sale.  He said he would fix it or give me my deposit back.  I finally demanded my deposit back, but never received any money.  Now his phone number doesn't work. 

Con man?  Why would a con man keep communicating with me for months?  They just take your money and disappear--this man emailed and called my agent for months.  I have filed against Adam Cohen with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.  I am following the paper trail on his companies and he does auctions and real estate in Florida and New York. 

If you deal with an Adam Cohen, please take his picture and send it to me so I can tell you if he is the con man I dealt with.  Better safe than sorry! (((ROR REDACTED)))
