Advance America Cash Advance Harrassing phone calls to my place of employment; threatening legal action Internet

I received several nasty messages from this gentleman named Eric Johnson. He told me that I needed to pay on a past due pay day loan that I had defaulted on. He told me that if I didn't pay $1300 in one week, I was going to be sued for a total of almost $7,000. I had no recollection of my defaulting on the loan, but I did recall applying for a payday loan at one point several years ago. I asked Mr. Johnson if I could call him back while I tried to figure out what was happening and going on. He gave me his phone number and told me that I had until 2 p.m. to call him back. Upon my return phone call, I asked for Mr. Johnson, but the person who answer said there is no one here by that name. Initially, I thought I had messed up, but then the gentleman came on the phone and explained that there was a "new" to the agency. 

I scheduled a payment arrangement with Mr. Johnson because I was extremely nervous about having to go to court. However, after doing more research I have discovered that this is in fact a scam. When I called Mr. Johnson back a few days later, he told me that the legal department wanted to speak to my attorney. I provided him with the name of my attorney who has not been contacted by this person or agency. 

To all consumers, please beware. This company uses people who speak broken english and it is very difficult to understand them. On one voicemail they left me, the message said "good luck and God bless."
