Advantage America ripoff dishonest fraudulent scam Winter Park Florida

I was called by an agent from Advantage America one night in September. The man on the other end of the line gave me his name but due to his broken english I could understand him that well. He proceeded to tell me that I had been approved for a $12,000 federal grant. That of course got my attention being that I had just gotten out of college and had student loans and living expenses to pay for.

I listen to his broken english as best I could and when he asked for my checking account number to verify my identity I was alittle reluctant but when he told me that the $12,000 would be directly deposited into my checking account I gave it to him. After giving him my account number he then tells me about the 49.95 one time fee. I told the man that I didn't want my account to be charged for that and I didn't want the program. He then tells me that he can't help me, that is not his department.

So he gave me a customer service number and a grant I.D. number and told me to call it within 2 days and my account would not be charged. I called within that time frame and the lady is spoke to who again spoke broken english told me that she couldn't help me and that I never should have been told that.

I then discovered that my checking account had been charged for the $49.95 and also for a charge of $299.95. I knew about the $49.95 but the $299.95 caught me off guard. I called again that day and spoke to Johnny. I went through the whole story with Johnny and told him that I wanted a refund of my money and to cancel anything that had my information on it. Johnny tried to persuade me otherwise but I finally got it through to him that I was angry. He told me that he canceled my information and I would be recieving a refund in 7-14 days.

Well 3 weeks later I still have no refund so I call again. This time I talk to Liza. She tells me that my account is not canceled and that the $49.95 is nonrefundable. I have gotten the run around from these people from the get go.

Every time I ask to speak with a supervisor they are all in meetings. So this time I told Liza that she needs to make a note that I am contacting my lawyer and the Better Business Bureau and until I am satisfied I will not stop calling them. If you get a phone call from these people immediatly hang up the phone. They take your money and have a lie waiting for every question.
