Advantage Honda Attempted to rip off cost of repair. Manhasset New York

My daughter's 2014 Honda Civic was sputtering intermittently after a snow storm.  We took it to the local Honda Dealer Advantage Honda on Northern Blvd, Manhassett, NY.  I was told water was found and it therefore was not under warranty.  I was then told that the cost would be over $1,100.00.  I told them the price was outrageous and said it was worth about $400.00 but I still felt it was under warranty.  I called Honda Customer service and got someone who I was sure did not understand what I was talking about and said they would not help.

I took the car to my local repair shop and they returned it fully fixed the next morning.  The cost was $400.00.  I guess I knew what I was talking about.  

I normally buy much more expensive cars but I was quite happy with the Honda for my daughter.  I will never buy another Honda and suggest everyone check the service reputation before you buy.
