We discovered that the goal of Advantage Rent a Car is to take advantage of the customer. We rented a car from the Orlando Florida Airport location in August. As we were finishing our paperwork, we were casually asked if we would like to add a second driver. Since their offer sounded like it was a courtesy gesture, and we had NEVER been charged for a second driver before, we said yes. 

When we returned the car, the bill was almost twice as much as the online estimate when we made our reservation. The biggest new charge was for $60 an additional driver. We told them that no one said that there would be a charge for that and they referred us to the bill.

When we checked the bill, we were surprised to see the charge because it had never been discussed with us. 

I guess we were foolish to trust that the only charges on the bill would be those that were discussed with us.

We tried to speak to the location manager but were told that he "was in a meeting".

I emailed the Advantage corporate office and heard nothing for almost a week. When someone finally called me back, it was   the person from the location where we had rented. 

He told me that it was too late to credit the $60 back to us but that they would give us a credit for the next time we rented from them.

He also said several times that the charge had been disclosed to us. When I said that no one had ever told us about the charge, he referred me to the bill.

We ended up paying literally twice as much for the car as it appeared it would cost when we signed up online.

The whole experience created a bad memory from what otherwise had been a great week in Orlando.

At this point, we would never rent from Advantage again and would want as many people as possible to know that if they do, they will be taken Advanage of.
