in checking my account online, I discovered a charge in the amount of $99.95 for aepc membership which I had not requested.

I called american express and was told a sweepstakes letter had been sent which I should have returned with a check mark declining the offer for membership.

I never open these kinds of letters.
I was told the charge would be removed immediately.
This is very bad on the part of american express.
