I bought my 17yr old daughter a vehicle from this crook that developed an oil leak 30min. after purchasing. The moment I arrived home I called back alerting him as to what took place. He arranged for "his mechanic" to make the repairs at a $300 fee, as it turned out the repair was a scam patch job that lasted less than a week. He dodged my calls for nearly 2wks pretending to be on vacation until my credit card company became involved and withdrew enough money ($1,200) to make the right repairs from his account, then suddenly he appears pretending he wanted to resolve it. However he backed out claiming I bought the vehicle "as is" and begged the credit card co. to return the money he stole. As it turns out the "as is" forms are fraudulent and now The Federal Trade Commission is going to file charges on my behalf and hopefully fine him once I complete the paperwork. My credit card co. offered me $1,000 which I intend to decline if it means they'll return the $1,200 they withdrew from him. Because doing so would allow a scam artist to make money, while allowing me to be paid by my credit card co. Which amounts to welfare for me, and a successful rip off for him. He lives at 6041 Applecrest dr. Youngstown, Ohio 44512 has several slum rental homes, and has been known as a slum landlord who abuses the less fortunate citizens of our society. This is a crusade that I intend to never let go until this scam artist crook is out of the business of stealing from the less fortunate people of this society! I encourage others to write his home & business expressing outrage at deliberately selling defective vehicles and making no effort to do what legitimate businesses do when alerted a major oil leak is discovered 30min. after a sale... Any decent merchant would immediately ask you to return the vehicle, make any necessary repairs himself, paid for by him, and return the vehicle in working condition...

Let me prove my point!

Perhaps I should have fully explained, read carefully Ken: Federal Trade Commission rules governing Buyers Guides dictate that in order for the "as is" Buyers Guide to be valid it MUST contain the words "I hereby acknowledge receipt of the Buyers Guide at the closing of this sale" if there is a signature line. Get it? If there is a signature line! There is a signature line and those words are not there, and I have the Buyers Guide as proof. And when I contacted the Federal Trade Commission I was told the dealer could be fined $16,000 per violation (the information is on their website). The representative also suggested an investigation would be started and charges filed once I send them the complaint. So I went back to the lot on Sunday and video taped the vehicles in violation. So robbing me of $2,700 could very well cost quite a bit.

Furthermore he made several changes and erasures to the contract without having them initialled by me, which voids the contract according to the Ohio Attorney General. So ordinarily "as is" would be binding, except you have to adhere to the letter of the rule in order for that to be true. No dealer should attempt to use an "as is" clause 30min. after making a sale, is that fair to you Ken?

Lastly, being a slum landlord is relevent because it speaks to the character of the individual in question. Anyone who has established a pattern of abuses, scams, or thefts against poor people should be exposed accordingly so that these businesses cease to exist and innocent families know not to rent from them. This could have very easily been avoided, he knows mechanic work, and should have simply made the necessary repair himself instead of attempting to simply take the money, right?

" As it turns out the "as is" forms are fraudulent and now The Federal Trade Commission is going to file charges on my behalf and hopefully fine him once I complete the paperwork.'

This is totally untrue and the FTC does NOT pursue individual claims..it is NOT their mission.

You are either lying or very much misinformed as to their role in this.

Read their statement on their website.

". after a sale... Any decent merchant would immediately ask you to return the vehicle, make any necessary repairs himself, paid for by him, and return the vehicle in working condition..."  Again, you're wrong, if sold AS-IS.  Would it have been nice for him to do it, yes, but there is no obligation to do so.

What does being an alleged slum lord have to do with your situation?
