Affordable Locksmith Persons Name: Ran Lying Locksmith low balls quotes and tries to charge more than double when they arrive to the destination Alexandria Virginia

i locked my self out of my apartment and i needed a locksmith. my apartment lobby front desk had multiple business cards of a locksmith called "affordable locksmith" haha that was far from the truth.

the locksmith quoted the lowest price when i called. they said it would be $39 to come out to the site and at minimum $15 for labor. well i assumed since there business cards were at the front desk that they have been to the apartment before several times, but when i asked him if he could give me a definite price he kept talking and wouldnt do it. well i assumed since i only had locked one lock that it would be fairly easy to unlock my door.

when the locksmith arrived and looked at my door he went off on some speil that it was very tough to open my door because it had a "industrial strength door and lock". he told me he would need to drill it out and then id have to have him replace the lock. he told me it would cost $300. i argued with him and he said alright i may be able to do something else. i asked him to show me what he would use to open it he wouldnt until i signed the document that i would pay. so i ended up getting him to open it for 135 (which is what i was told id have to pay at the very high end if there was a lot of work involved. so after i signed the document and he took it he just pulled out these little wedges stuck them in and just blew them up with and hand compressor. It literally took 5 seconds to do and I was charged the max price for labor after first being told he needed to drill out my lock and replace it and claiming the door handle lock on my door sold for $350 at his shop and I was getting a deal.
