Afni Inc. contacted afni and ask for proof of debt and was told that they did not have to prove anything, and I said this was 20yrs old and fraudulant they said they would settle today for half. Bloomington Illinois

I recieved a letter from afni Inc. saying that I owed a debt to Charter Communications for $77.12 from an apartment I lived in 1990 in Smyrna,GA. WHICH I strongly deni ,and when I asked for proof he told me he did not have to prove anything but he would settle today for $38.56,and I told him I was going to report them to the Alabama consumer protection agencey,and hung up and reported them to the FTC. In which they took down the information and said they would not do anything until they recieved a large number of calls. I also checked my credit report to see if it showed up and,it has never been on it in all these years!
