I received a letter from this bunch dated 3/21/07 attempting to collect on a debt in the amount of $447.75 on a GTE/Verizon account. They offered a "settlement" of $223.88 (half the "debt") payable by the usual methods.

The problem is that this debt is over 15 years old, from Arkansas, where I have not lived for 14 years. The creditor account number appears to be the old phone number, appended with the date of the last bill sent.
