AHS Home Warranty AHS is does not respond to complaints & uses contractors with terrible repuatations Memphis, TN Nationwide

I called the company about 1 month after signing up for their home warranty plan to have a plumber come out and fix a leak under my kitchen sink in the hot water connection to the faucet. The plyumber they sent out was not one of whom I have ever heard and not based in Tulsa where I live, but rather in Oklahoma City instead.

The plumber informed me I would need a new faucet because the line was soldered to the faucet and he would come back when I had the new faucet. We were charged $75 for the very short inspectioin he did. I was not too concerned at this point because there is a $125 deductible on the warranty I assumed he would collect the rest on his return trip.

The plumber returned after I scheduled another appt. two days later and installed the new faucet I expected him to ask for a check for the balance of the deductible, $50, but instead was told it would be $140 because the repair would not be covered under the warranty because the fitting had been overtightened". I pointed out to him that I had tried to tighten the fitting myself before calling AHS and before I discovered it was not the connectioin that leaked but the fitting itself, not something that could be tightened. It was obvious at that point that he hadn't even checked the problem out completely. He refused to hear what I said and insisted that he was giving me a "big diacount".

I emailed AHS to complain about the plumber and ask for a correction of this issue and refund and have never hear from AHS. It has been a month now.

By the way, I looked up the plumber, Plumb Genius, on Angies List and there was a huge list of complaints about getting ripped off by the outfit. There were several complaints about them refusing to do the work under warranty due to "overtightening".
