Beware of buying your automotive clutch from aimcoclutch on Ebay. Their XTD racing clutches are advertised and sold with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, but when confronted with a claim for defective workmanship, they ignore it. When pressed, they will tell you that your specific vehicle's clutch warranty is no longer honored by the manufacturer, although you will find the warranty continues to be advertised with their product.

They refuse any claim forms and will not send any written warranty claim instructions. Apparently, Jim Kun Song is the owner of this company, and he states that he is the manufacturer AND distributor of the XTD clutches, and can decide whether or not to honor a claim. He was also very rude by phone and email when I contacted his company. He uses emotional tactics and insults your mechanical knowledge and driving ability. He states that he has many satisfied customers and never has any warranty claims on his product.

The XTD clutch they sell appears to be a repainted OEM. The springs seem to be off-balance, and the pucks on the racing clutches are already powdery and rough upon delivery. Some common symptoms of the defects are heavy vibration, chatter, and hard clutch engagement. They will tell you that it is normal, to buy time. The clutch fails after a relatively short time, the pucks crack up and fall off the rivets - and the exposed rivets cause damage to the plate and flywheel, and transmission.

There are many complaints on the web naming this company, and the BBB has given them an F rating, and they have been reported to the FTC for violating the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. If you have been scammed by Aimco Clutch Company warranty, you can file a report with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. You can also file a review on Ebay.com.

I personally would be interested in being party to any class-action that may be brought against this company. I intend to file suit in small claims court, for now.
