I don't like to get involved in stuff like this but it is clear that Ashley Larry / Hodges  has been dishonest.  

We had called her looking for a dog in the spring of 2014 and she went on telling us about her puppy and the parents, but when we asked some details about her dogs she avoided answering our questions, gave us half answers and talking about other things??. It was clear to us that she was only interested in making money of the sale and making it quickly we must of been to much work for her??  When we started asking too many questions and wanted copies of health testing her friendly voice changed and she stopped returning our calls and emails. I wondered if I said something wrong but I didn't I just wanted to know if she could prove they were CKC registered and health tested as she advertised. We were new to getting a puppy and read that you should ask for this, that a responsible breeder will provide this for you. We were just worried and needed more info before we could buy a puppy from her. Even though she states she will offer health testing results if you ask, she did not provide them for us. She was very fast to respond to our email when we stated we wanted him. She came across as being a bit pushing over getting an answer that day as to do we want him and can we send the deposit then.  she would need the deposit to hold him or she could not hold him, we just wanted to see health testing and registration papers first.  She did not ask us about our home, our life style anything, she talked about money first. This concerned us, but he was so cute we really wanted him. She really pushed for a non refundable deposit and kept givng excuses on why she couldn't send the health testing, her scanner was broken her phone didn't scan.  As we had never met the puppy or even seen her place, we decided we needed a bit more proof that the puppy was even real with all the fraud on the internet. We asked for a video but she was to busy to send?  After this we researched her name and found the warnings. I don't even know if she was selling us a real dog or just a picture? or why she was dishonest with us, we had our hopes up and she broke our hearts.

It is clear from what we have read that she has mislead more than one person.  She is running a business through AK Colored Bostons and her rescue but claims it's a hobby, why?

That the care of her animals is in question as well as the truth behind her business. It appears she is ashamed by her breeding business otherwise she would not go to such great lengths to hide the truth.

You can see clearly in the pictures dogs which used to be listed on her web site, out in her yard playing with breeds of dogs she claims she does not own or breed. Then you can see ads with the same dogs being bred, so why does she feel the need to hide this? Is she out of control and cannot stop breeding? lieing? scamming people? what is it?? why the need to be dishonest? I can not see any current CKC papers to any of her dogs she owns, or any current health testing, just old info on dogs she does not own. Why can't she produce this, is it because again it's just more lies then? CKC confirmed she is not a recommended or listed breeder member? Why if she is such a good breeder then why is she not a CKC member and a recommended breeder?

Is she ashamed she is a commerical breeding kennel, or is she hiding from the by-laws in her area?? Is she breaking the law by what she is doing, has this caused her to feel the needs to lie and hide?   Is she ashamed that her dogs are not in her house like she claims? Is she ashamed that they are kennel raised dogs?  Why does she feel such a need to hide the truth? Why can't she just tell the truth, if she is such a caring simple dog breeder? She has removed her rescue page from her web site, locked up her web site, making it that no one can see what she is doing. Could one of the reasons be she was warned by the SPCA to not breed? If she has been warned by the SPCA to not breed and now they can not see what she is doing ??. You can see ads popping up on used Victoria and used vancouver and kijij... all the time for puppies from her but she avoids putting info on her web site and has now locked the general public out from viewing it. Why the need to hide?

Why does she feels the need to hide or lock up her web site and hide what she is breeding and when, how many dogs she owns  and breeds??? Who and what is she hiding from?

Her actions speak for themself

Our experience was not great and we have since adopted a SPCA rescue, that is healthy and a wonderful little dog. Maybe it ended up just being a blessing we saved a life over supporting a breeder in it for the money.

Support the SPCA and adopt a dog or the Boston Terrier Rescue vs supporting fake rescues like this and commerical kennels. 

I would just like to keep this short and sweet. 

I think that I'm a very peaceable person and very passionate about animals and people who know me or have met me know this and know they are my WHOLE life. 

I would really like to say THANK YOU to all the people who have read these false accusations and have still come and met me and seen our home and my animals. I appreciate the people who truly care for the well being of animals and have supported me through this. It means so much to me.

As for the person who is writing these things you should try to focus your time and energy into something positive you will probably feel much better about your self!

She is a very busy woman scamming as many people as she can. Both as a "breeder" and as a fraudulent "Rescue". The only way to stop it from happening is by sharing the report with as many people as you can. Please feel free to share my story as well to prevent others from being scammed. 

PS.. I reside in B.C. Canada but it didn't appear as an option. 

I would like to set the record straight regarding these accusations and call this slander...

1) I do not have 20 breeding boston terriers. I have 4 breeding boston terriers males and have only used 2 of those males so far, and 5 breeding female boston terriers. I have kept some of my own puppies that i will use for future breeding when they are old enough.

2) my dogs do not come from a puppy mill or puppy mills i deal only with 1 breeder in the US i have searched long and hard to find a good registered breeder who cares for her dogs.

3) They are purebred and are registered with american kennel club, canadian kennel club, american pet registry, united canine association and continental kennel club. Most of my dogs are double or tripled registered. With american kennel club and the canadian kennel club you do have to have at least a 3 generation pedigree to prove that they are pure bred and that the parents have been registered with akc or ckc.

4) I do not cross breed dogs ie. french bulldogs I dont even have one on my property!!!

5) I do have pure bred Canadian Kennel Club registered boston terriers.

6) Boston terries come in 3 sizes small - under 15lbs medium - 15-20 lbs large - 20-25lbs I have all 3 sizes. I also never guarantee the size of a puppy cause it all depends on each pup and what their fed and how they are raised.

7) we have 2 spayed rescued pet pit bulls and 1 spayed crossed pit bull. these dogs we rescued from being euthanized who were either locked in a crate, starved and neglected or used as a bait dog. we chose to keep them and have had them for years and have no intention on abandoning or giving up them becasue i breed boston they were here first and will stay for life. 1 pitty we just did a $2000. surgery on cause she ate part of her ball. YOU TELL ME WHAT PUPPY MILL WOULD SPEND THAT MONEY ON A SPAYED DOG. Since definition of puppy mill is to ONLY make money and do not care about the condition of the animals. WE HAVE THE VET BILLS TO PROVE THIS OR BETTER YET YOU COULD CONTACT MY VET WHO KNOWS ALL MY DOGS AND SEES ME ALMOST EVERY WEEK!!!

8) I do not breed Douge de bordeaux's i have never had a litter of this breed. I use to breed Bull Terriers!!! I do not anymore because it was hard to find the right homes for them.

9) I have no other Mastiff breeds!!!!

10) I do Great Dane rescue I am the BC rep for New Hope For Danes. I take danes from shelters and people who can no longer care for them due to their circumstances. I rehabilitate them and find them loving caring homes. They are all spayed and neutered before they are adopted out.

11) we raise our puppies in our home not all our dogs are in side house dogs but still loved pets!!! who have beds and propper care in a heated/ air conditioned building.

12th WE DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN!!!! the children in the pictures are of our nieces and nephews who come over several times a week and play with our puppies and dogs in our house...

13) WE DO NOT HAVE 30-40 DOGS!!!!

14) I AM SORRY THAT OUR 1200 plus SQUARE FOOT HOUSE IS SMALL TO YOU! we find it a good size.

15) we do not keep our dogs in barns!!!

16) I have only EVER had 1 litter of 10 puppies. my average litter size is 2- 4 puppies each litter which is once a year from each adult breeding female and they are only bred 3 times then spayed. DO THE MATH !

17) We clean our yard, pens daily and take the poop away. this is a full time comitment and life style. Breeding dogs is a lot of time work and can be stressful.

18) ALL OUR DOGS GET PROPER CARE, FED GOOD QUALITY DOG FOOD FROM THE VET CLINIC AND PET STORE, THEY SEE THE VET REGULARLY FOR ROUTINE CHECK UPS, VACCINES AND DEWORMING. THEY ALL HAVE LOTS OF TIME SPENT WITH THEM! We take our dogs with us everywhere we can. We usally have a large group of dogs with us so they all get time to come out and play or go for a hike. WE HAVE ALL OUR VET BILLS TO PROVE THAT THEY ARE TAKEN CARE OF!

19) the dogs that you may have heard barking from the garage would have been our rescue dogs who we put away for the safety of people who come to view our dogs until we know they are safe to have around people, or to make sure people who come are not afraid of large dogs. Some people who come have children and not all our rescue dogs are trustworthy to have out with kids.

20) we have health testing for our dogs which can be viewed upon request. Yes not all our dogs have been health tested for every type of testing available either they are cleared through parents or maybe to young to have those tests completed.

21) I NEVER TELL ANYONE FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRY I TELL THEM THE TRUTH WHICH THEY ARE REGISTERED WITH. ALSO FOR YOUR INFORMATION YOU CAN NOT REGISTER DOGS IN CANADA WITH CONTINENTAL KENNEL CLUB YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN THE US . maybe it will help if you do some research before you accuse me of this.

22) my mastiff is 110lbs not 180lbs lol.

23) I am located on Vancouver Island and if you looked on my web site it says that!

24) we do require a $300 non refundable deposit unless the puppy does not pass its health checks before it leaves me, to ensure serious buyers. Im sure most other breeders have the same procedure. I do not pressure anyone to buy a puppy from me, i am in no rush to get rid of my pups however they do sell fast and so i tell people in order to hold a pup we require a deposit but you are able to view the pups before you give a deposit. I have held some pups for people who were unable to send a deposit right away so that is also untrue.

25) My prices on pups are from $1200- $2000 so not all pups are $2000 If people feel that is to high they are not forced to pay that they can buy dogs from other breeders. If its a great home and people can not afford that price sometimes we will negotiate the price even tho we have other people interested in the pup. It is not about money but the homes that are most important!

26) I would like to see proof of the deposit you sent! And who you are, cause i give my clients receipts so i would have your information.
