Alamo Rental Car Damage Waiver Scam ripoff Las Vegas Nevada

Rented car for a week in Las Vegas from the Aiport location. Picked up car with no damage and returned with no damage. Alamo agent at turn-in did walk around and didn't note any damage.

30 days later I receive a letter saying I am responsible for damage to the car! I call to find out what damage. Told there is damage to rear bumper. What type of damage? They don't know. How much damage? They don't know. Give me a Break!

How many people have rented this vehicle since I did? Was I the last person not to select the Loss Damage Waiver so I am the sucker? How do I know an Alamo employee didn't back into something after I turned it in (going or coming from the car wash?). I am in a position of being unable to offer any explanations.

As a note to others, VISA requires any claims to be submitted within 20 days after the rental period, not 20 days after notification of damage. Hopefully, they are going to honor their obligation, if not I guess I will be submitting a report on them also.

From the other reports submitted here and elsewhere, I must assume this is a concerted effort by Alamo to get whatever dollars they can from whatever deep pocket source they can attack. I mention National also, since they appear to be ran by the same corporation and share agents and space.
