I emailed Alices' Classy Cockers about 2 cocker spaniel females she had for sale that had just turned TWO years old. She and I talked on the phone,numerous emails (I have them all) and she knew I was going to use these girls for breeding purposes.
About 10 days after I got them and they were a bit more comfortable in coming up to me (very shy and timid), I realized one had a very LARGE cataract in one eye. It was so large it was visible without any special tools! That means the cataract had been there for a very long time.
Both girls immediately went to the vet. My vet saw her and verified the cataract was there, large and should have been seen by Alice and her vet. The cataract as well as both girls have severe ear infections and horrible ear mites. Alice said the ears were clean but that does not mean they were free of infection or mites. I spent over $50 on ear medications. This type of infection & infestation does not happen in a few days.
When I contacted Alice she offered to replace the afflicted girl but I would be responsible to ship her back to Alice, $100 for a new dog and all shipping charges for the new dog! I offered to have this one spayed and in a good home and she refused. I had to return the dog and all the paperwork.
I paid $1000 for these 2 girls and now am out $500. This girl will not be bred. I have found a forever home for her and she will be spayed prior to placement.
I asked Alice if she did any CERF testing on her dogs and she said no that it was too costly. That the only dogs she tested for hereditary problems was the ones she had in the show ring!
This means that those that buy her puppies may be getting a pup out of parents who have cataracts, glaucoma or other hereditary eye problems and their pup could have early onset of juvenile problems, too.
This tells me she is only showing dogs to make herself look good!
NOW Alice has changed her kennel name to Wonderland Cockers. Why is that? To get away from those that have bought puppies/dogs from her who are blind or have other problems?
Just a buyer beware.

Alice of Alices Classy Cockers who is now Wunderland Cockers will not follow through with her agreement to take the dog back if I paid all the expenses to ship her back!!! She is a dishonest, not reputable breeder. I have an email from her telling me she would take her back (not refund any money) if I paid airfare, health certs & crate. She will not answer emails or calls about Goldie!!!!!

I am not going to get into a he said/she said match here.
I stated the facts about what happened and I have all the emails back/forth, veterinarian paperwork and on 11/18/06 she will be CERF tested to see if there is a cataract we are not yet seeing in the other eye. Her sister will aslo be CERF tested.
1. Breeders who are responsible take full responsibility for dogs they purchase. She bought them as a kennel sell out that means they are her responsibility. Health, placement, rehoming, grooming, etc. As now this girl is mine, she is being offered to a good pet home after being spayed.
2. Breeders who want to be reputable replace dogs who are afflicted with no charge on spay/neuter contracts. They do not get defensive or argumentative. I had this girl 8 days when I saw the cataract, and my vet at day 10 saw the cataract and ear problems. No dog gets this ill in 10 days.
3. Responsible breeders test all their breeding stock not just the dogs for the show ring. Why wouldn't a pet buyer be able to have a pup out of parents who have been CERF tested by a board certified optholmologist? Why shouldn't they expect a heatlhy dog for a life time? Why does Alice feel only show people deserve this consideration after all those buying for pets love their dogs as much if not more. Alice charges a lot for a puppy whose parents are not health tested.
4. Reputable, responsible breeders offer assistance and help to those that have problems with their dogs no matter how old they are or what the prolbem.
5. Responsible breeders take back any dog, at any time, no matter the cost. Even if you bought the dog in a kennel sell out, the dog is now your responsibility and the breeder would take back and rehome. Even if it means paying to get the dog back, airfare, ect. Rescue begins at home.
My cockapoos are CERF cleared before being bred. Families who buy my dogs get copies of the CERF papers for their vet.

BOTH was sold for $250 each at pet price... I did tell her to send the dog back and i would send her another dog.she didn't want to send the dog back i told her i would . ler her have the other dog i had listed for 400. for 100. if she wasn't going to send the other one back. She never sent papers from a VET that tells me this is true. AND top it all off she wanted the DAM of THIS GIRL .
I have all info on my website. All older dogs are sold as is. She was more then welcome to come to my home and look at the dogs . these dogs was checked by my vet and was in good health DEE had the dogs 2 all most 3 before taking them to the VET. EVERYONE know as soon as you get a pup/dog take him/her to the VET then not 3 weeks latter.. Dee knows every thing that can go wrong with cockers and poodles . WHY MIX the BREEDs ANY WAY .... OH I NOW FOR THE MONEY...
The dogs. That Dee got from me was from a kennel sale out that i just got my self and she all so knew that.
