Received a brand new Area 51 notebook mid December, 2006. Turned it on - no video. Called tech support the next day - they had me open the computer and re-seat the video card. Did not solve problem. Notified them, they had me reset Bios and CMOS - did not solve problem. Notified them. Again, they wanted me to reset Bios and CMOS. Took computer to GeekSquad and Staples Easy Tech - both places said it was defective hardware.

Informed Alienware and I am still begging them to take the notebook back and repair it (this is now March 16, 2007). They insist they will not take the notebook back for repair until I can diagnose exactly what's wrong with it! I'm not an IT person and the tech people I took it to were unable to run diagnostics on it because there is no video.

I do not recommend buying a computer from Alienware.

Alienware bought by Dell. Send a written letter of complaint to Dell HQ. Tell them what the problem is and what you expect them to do to make you happy. Send the letter certified with a return receipt requested.

Also, if you paid by Credit card, call your credit card provider and ask them what they can do to to help.
