The following is an outline of complaints that I have against All Star Moving, located at the address listed above.

1. Breach of contract by the owner, causing me to immediately need to find other means of getting my belongings from Maryland to Texas with only a two day timeframe. The decision made by the person who claimed to be the owner caused me to incur additional expenses that I would not have had to had this business fulfilled their contractual obligations and did what they repeatedly assured me would happen. The alleged owner did not like the questions I was asking him about charging for things that were clearly not included in the contract and attempting to debate with me the rules and regulations that he could get away with doing things that were clearly against the moving insurance policy I purchased to protect my move. The person claiming to be the owner of All Star Moving was very unprofessional, arrogant and a complete jackass right from the get go. When his representative starting to try to charge me for things that I should not have been charged for and I placed a call to the Customer Service Rep: Jessica that I had been dealing with over the phone prior to the movers arriving.

2. First warning sign was Move date was scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2009. A few days prior (Thursday, September 17, 2009), I received a call from Jessica, asking if they could arrive on Monday, September 21, 2009 instead. I changed my schedule since I was traveling from Texas to Maryland to meet the movers as planned. I was originally told there would be a two day window going forward of arrival for the movers 9/22 and 9/23 NOT 9/22 & 9/21. On moving day, the moving companys representative walked into the apartment, pulled out his little clipboard and said we are going to charge you an additional 75.00 since you are on the third floor. I informed him I was already aware of this and it was already included on the contract. After looking at his paperwork, he saw the charge already on it. Then he proceeded to tell me he was going to charge me an additional $70.00 for a long carry from his truck to the apartment. I proceeded to tell him that his truck was parked on the side of the building instead of the front of the building (where it was already authorized with the complex for him to park there). He acted like he was not aware of additional access/steps for the move. There was NO-WAY he could not have NOT seen the additional access, since you have to walk right by them to get the apartment door. Once that was squared away, his helpers came in and started wrapping our mattresses with their plastic covers, even thought they were already covered with the original plastic covers they came in when we bought them. We told them we did not need more plastic covers over plastic covers. I told him we needed them in boxes, because of the moving insurance we purchased. This discussion was covered with Jessica SEVERAL times prior to the move and she informed us that the movers ALWAYS had the boxes in the trucks. I told her MANY times we needed the mattresses in boxes. The representative who was at our apartment told us we will have to cover them in plastic (once again they were already covered) at the cost of $15.00 per piece plus $5.00 for labor, which would have come out to $20.00 times 4 = $80.00 and then when they drove our belongings to their warehouse/business in New Jersey then they would put them in boxes and at that point they were going to charge us an additional $20.00 per piece plus an additional $5.00 for labor to put them in the box.. So another additional $100.00. This is consumer theft at its best to charge for something twice. I went to another room to contact Jessica and she said since they did not have the boxes with them I would have to pay for the plastics until it got to their warehouse. I told her we talked about this over and over and over and you assured me they would have the boxes in the truck because of the insurance. I hung up the phone with her went back into the room only to find that now our 4 dining room chairs were being put into boxes (which was going to cost an additional charge of $22.50 per piece plus the additional $5.00 per piece to put them in boxes, a total of an additional $110.00). We had already bubble wrapped and shrink wrapped the chairs ourselves so they would be covered and protected in additional to the blanket pads that were supposed to be used, per the contract.

ONCE again we discussed this with the rep and he said he was going to call the owner. He made a phone call to someone but when he got off the phone, he still did not have a clue what to tell me. I ONCE again had to call Jessica. She again told me we would have to pay for the mattress plastics and boxes and the boxes for the chairs. I asked to speak to the owner, at that time someone got on the phone claiming to be the owner and right away, he was being a jerk (to say it kindly) screaming stating He had been in business for over 20 years and he was going to charge me for the extra plastics and boxes. I told him that was going to be a problem since the insurance would not cover if there was damage. He said I have never had a problem and I know how to work with insurance companies. I told him that was wrong on so many levels and then told me You know what lady (many other choice words were used that would be expected to come out of the mouth of a juvenile delinquent) I am not going to move your stuff, you find another mover to move your stuff, I am going to tell my guys to leave your place. I dont have time for this.

He then hung up on me and immediately his helpers phone rang and he hung up and told the other guys bring the stuff back in (at that point they had moved a few boxes into the hallway) we are not moving them They brought the stuff in and they were gone.

I was left with only 1.5 days to find another means of getting our belongings moved from Maryland to Texas since I needed to come back to Texas and return to work.

This business is CLEARLY misrepresenting themselves in their written contracts and CLEARLY attempting to charge for things they should not be charging for. In addition they are CLEARLY doing some fraudulent business acts with comments of I have never had a problem and I know how to work with insurance companies
