Damaged my property with their pump truck. Accidents happen. I contacted the owner Chris Boucher, and after a long conversation, he promised to fix the item. He did, but it was a very poor job. It was not worth the hassle of taking him to court. Not for a couple of hundred.

The topper was when he left the wife with 'custom' septic bacteria (available at Home Depot) for 5x what it was worth. She thought it was part of the service. When I read the bill, we were charged $50.00 for what would cost $10 at the hardware store. He also tried to sell an expensive, plastic manhole to cover the buried septic tank. Thank God she did not fall for that one. Why you would want to view an ugly plastic manhole cover in you yard rather than keeping it buried with sod is beyond me. Hire at your own risk.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Rebuttal to Post of January 29th

AUTHOR: Christopher Boucher - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 10, 2009

I have no recollection of this job and the circumstances described are not familiar. All Star Septic will never drive over a homeowners property unless the septic tank cannot be reached with our 150 feet of hoses. In that case, our company policy is to notify the homeowner of the situation; explain that the truck is heavy when loaded; and have the homeowner present to observe the operation. I have never been recalled to a job to explain damage to a customer and I certainly would encourage this customer to contact me directly to discuss the situation at 540-272-0247.

A few points of clarification:
We do sell bacteria for $50.00 for a 12-month supply. Similar products can be purchased and are typically a one time (one month) treatment for $6.99. These products are inferior and a one year's supply totals $84.00.

All Star Septic always recommends putting a manhole over your septic tank; which is now code for all new installations. It allows us easy access to the tank in the event of an emergency and routine pumping is cheaper as there is no need to dig it up each time.

Customer feedback is extremely important but we cannot correct an issue if we don't know of the situation. Fortunately, a satisfied All Star Customer (Thanks Richard!) alerted us to the negative review allowing us to respond.
