This company will lie to you in a heartbeat! I purcased a ticked for my son to fly out of Memphis, TN on 2/27/2017. He had no way of printing a boarding pass so I paid the additional $5.00 for Allegian Air to print the boarding pass at the ticket counter. He arrived at the airport 1.5 hours early but there was no one at the ticket counter. He waited by the ticket counter for well over an hour but no one ever showed up. He was on the phone with me for most of that time and even sent me pictures of the ticket counter for me to see. He could not get through security without a bording pass in order to go to the gate and hopefully handle it there.

I called customer service and waited for 45 minutes for their customer service person to take my call. What a waste of time! She told me he was a no-show and that I would have to purchase another ticket to fly at a later date. All she kept saying was "do you want to purchase another ticket?"

Of course I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. Cheap is not always best and you do get what you pay for. In this case I got nothing for $111.00 and the customer service is terrible. All I can say is buyer beware. Never again for me!!

Maybe you should read the other complaints about Allegiant Air

My son left that area after the flight took off and no he didn't just sit on his butt. In the last 30 minutes he was in a panic and asking other airlines if they could page anyone with Allegiant. If you take time to read some of the other complaints on this site you will find that this is not an issolated situation. I am not trying to prove a case here. I am simply trying to make the public aware and I'll say it again, Buyer Beware!

That is the point

You say you have no idea if hte other guy got help. That is the point. You were several hundred miles away, so what did your son do AT the airport?  You were on the phone for around an hour with your son and didn't at any time even get a "Yea there is another guy here with the same problem".

What exactly did your son do during this time?  Did he just sit on his butt and take a couple of pictures and say "Oh well"?

If you fly you know that there should be more than 2 people at the counter. While many people can print Boarding Passes
at home, you can't drop off checked bags.  A good percentage of people still check bags, and just like your son there are people who can't or just don't print their Boarding Pass at home. Even being very conservative there should have been a couple dozen people at least. That is where your "complaint" fails and goes more towards the..what has your son failed to do.

In the end they are an Ultra-Budget airline that has a "no frills" model.  I will actually not fly this airline for many reasons.  Instead opting for other airlines such as the one you usually fly.  But none of the reasons are becaose of what you posted here as there is still an unknown factor where you are lacking several key details as to the actual situation.

Just a bad experience.

The flight number was 781 and departed Memphis at 8:57 am headed for Orlando/Sanford. My son called me when he arived the airport at 7:30. I'm sure you already know that most people print their own boarding pass expecially when they charge $5.00 just to print the boarding pass. Personally I always fly Delta from Memphis to Orlando/Sanford. With Delta they have the kiosk which makes it quite easy. I don't know if the other person ever got any help either. Since this happened I've had several people tell me they had nothing good to say about Allegiant.

Ummmm...

Agents at the Check-In counter don't just print out Boarding Passes. They actually have several functions including the full check-in, accepting the CHECKED baggage, and handling any issues. I have never been on a flight where everyone checked-in online, had no issues, and had no checked bags.

This brings up a important question. Why was your son the only one at the counter for over an hour? Yes, there is a picture of one other person.  But that is the point. There should many people in line if as you claim that no one was there to check people in.

When an airline has minimal flights they don't staff their counters all the time, in fact they may only staff them for the couple hour "check-in" period.  In looking at Allegiant it appears they have a "Check-In" cut-off 60 minutes before the flight. Which also means that at 59 minutes before the flight, they close down the station and leave.  Where if you haven't checked in, droppoed off your bag, or printed your boarding pass you are late and could be considered a No-Show.  This again is the same on any airline.

You say your son was there 90 minutes before and was on the phone with you most of the time? Why wasn't your son trying to track someone down in the airport? If he did what did they say?

Your "story" would have more credibility if you had a huge line of people wondering where the staff was. But when you end up with 1(or possibly 2) that becomes the standard "I missed my flight" percentage that happens on just about every flight on every airline.

What was the exact flight details such as the flight number and exactly what time did he arrive?
